She had an animal rescue in Kileen, TX, and was a wonderful, caring person. I wrote this in her memory. Kim’s Poem So many animals are bright-eyed now as they all turn as one to watch the light. They stop their romping play, softly meow, as Kim Thunderwolf comes into their sight. They run to greet her; she is all their friend; she saved so many from a horrid fate; they knew she’d come at her earthly life’s end; they didn’t know they’d have so short a wait. They purred and rubbed her ankles with soft fur; they stood up and put their soft paws on her knee; they had no words, but spoke with rumbling purr and told her about all the joy to be. Dear Kim, you’re missed more than my words can tell, but you’re now with all those cats who loved you well. ©2008Margy

Isn't it amazing that I only live 90 or so miles from Killeen, but the first I ever hear of this person is from you. I'm sorry that the rescue world has lost this good person, and you have lost a friend.

Her husband is closing the shelter. It's too much for him and has too many memories he can't handle right now.

Yeah, what she said! I'd say the same thing, but how can I beat such a well said comment?

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It is those like her we all have so much to learn from. She may have only been here such a short time but she left a legacy of love and nurturing that will follow all those who she loved and those that loved her in return, whether human or animal.

I like to think that she is looking down at all of us and urging us to care for our animals and love them to pieces.

Awwww.. that's a beautiful poem, my friend, in memory of such a loving and caring lady. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It must have been devastating. I have written a couple of poems for lost friends, and the latest one, I'm going to frame and lay beneath the tree which was planted in her memory. Naturally, the frame will have to be sealed against the elements, but that might be an idea for you too, to show your appreciation of a wonderful lady, whose life was brought to such an abrupt end. Maybe a cat's paw print or two would add sincerity to it. Brightest Blessings in Love and in Light, that your friend's journey to the Otherworld be a comfortable and happy one. xx

Thank you both. I sent mine to my friend, in e-mail, but I saved a copy in my word processor, changed the text to Black Chancery which is a neat text, and printed it off. My friend went in October, the first anniversary of his Mother's passing, to plant some bulbs under the tree, so I've asked him if he'll take me in spring, when the bulbs have flowered, to place the poem under the tree with them. I think perhaps your friend's husband would like to keep his copy, so maybe you could do something similar... then go with him to stand it at her place of rest?

That's a very beautiful idea, thank you. I sent the poem to her dear husband; maybe he will do this for her. She is with her beloved cats now and at peace.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. And what a lovely poem you wrote for her... I had visited the online site for this shelter several months ago, and was pleased to see how well it seemed to be doing. Your friend saved many lives, and I'm sure many of her fur babies were there to greet her when she passed. Blessings, Tess.

Margy you did a nice kob of this and I'm deeply saddened to know you have lost such a dear and caring friend. It just seems she had to leave at such an early age. I am very sorry. We all ask ourselves why? Was Kim on myLot as well? I also wondered if you ever got to meet Kim as I see you refer her as an online friend. Take Care.

I never did get to meet her. We exchanged email; I sent contributions to her shelter and cat food to her husband when he was in Iraq. He had rescued some cats over there and couldn't get food for them. She was not on MyLot; all she had time for was her animals.
