Is it really profitable spending a lot of time on the net?

Just a thought! i am looking at it from the profit angle. We need to pay for Electricity and the net connection which comes to approximately about $50 a month. If one were to earn above that sum, one can really feel happy that one is using the net usefully where revenues are concerned....of course there is the happiness one gets in meeting people and learning about life in general as we post answers to discussions.. what are your thoughts?

Well you can never earn a handsome amount in internet forums. It is only the pleasure of being with friends that lures most of us here.Money of course is an added attraction.Well It takes abut a couple of years to earn 104 here.Is it worth toiling for that.No.There is some magic that keeps us here.

I totally agree with you! This place is addictive, and i miss it when i am not able to log in and take part in at least a few discussions. The earning does not seem to matter really. If one can combine both it would be ideal.Spend time on some sites just for the pleasure of it and do some serious earning on some lol, that is if there are any such sites

I use my office computer to surf the net. So no thoughts given on rising electricity bills.I use my home PC only at night for few hours. So i am lucky not to feel the pinch.

Thanks for your reply.Yes using the work place comp is helpful, but many people use the net at home and have to pay all the necessary bills.you too need to pay for electricity and the net connection every month dont you?

Ya I do pay for the net and electricity but its very nominal. As I use the workplace system and spend only 2-3 hours a day in front of my home PC at night.

Yes, but there are many like myself who need to balance both the sides...the expenditure involved and the revenue earned.Initially i felt it was just too much of an effort.but i find that there are many sites now and it is more than balancing out..

It depends on what you do ON the net. If you're "wasting" electricity then it's not profitable, if you're earning while you're on the net, then you're doing fine. If you're paying for your internet connection ANYWAY (regardless if you're earning online or not), then that's just a waste if you won't use it to earn an extra buck right? thanks for the comment on my discussion!

You are most welcome :)I agree that we have to use the net in a useful manner, either earning some revenue, gaining knowledge or relaxing sometimes, like i spend some time on a music forum, where i do not earn anything, except that members get to request and exchange music, but it makes me very happy.Thank you so much for views x
