Hi ..have you ever gone to one of those online site that offers coupons: everready, cool savings or other and printed off some of the money saving coupons? Have you ever had yourself a whole stash only to get to the checkout and they tell you they won't take them? Do you just accept that or do you argue a little that these are offered by a legit site?
I have gotten some off a website and then try to use them in some stores..and some stores will not accept them.

I have had that same problem my self. I now will call and ask if they will accept printed off the internet coupons some store do and some dont. I have also discovered a cool site call shortcuts.com for grocery stores in the USA. As for arguing I have done that once and the manager got involved and needless to say they ended up accepting the coupon rather than listen to me complain any further. I am disapointed with the stores that do not accept the coupons, and would rather go to a store that does accept them and spend my money with them.

I have found that when I tell them in the end that another store accepts them that they change their minds quite quickly.. I tell them I will just leave the groceries and go to such and such as they are very coupon friendly.

Yes, that has happened to me in the past. I have had that problem especially at Wal-Mart. They told me in no uncertain terms that these internet printed coupons are not acceptable because they are fradulent coupons. I informed them that I printed them out from the manufacturer's website, or from cool savings, etc. myself and they were not duplicates or fraudulent. Their response was that they don't take those printed out coupons, period. They said there is no way to know if they are good or not so they do not accept them at all. I guess they are worried about being reimbursed for them.
So, when this happened to me I just left all of my purchases there, did not pay, and let them worry about voiding out my sale and putting the stuff away.
It made me so mad because what is the point of printing out these coupons or even putting them on there in the first place if the store is not willing to accept them? Whatever! So, I never bother taking them to Wal-Mart any more. If I do have some I usually take them to the grocery store and they still accept them.
If this starts happening at more stores for me I am going to contact the manufacturers and let them know which stores are not accepting them and see if maybe they will mail me some actual original coupons from their companies.
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I did find Wal-Mart's coupon policy online after I typed in my discussion above. Read this. I printed it out and it is going into my purse right now. I am going to print out some coupons and rile up some Wal-Mart employees today!

I have had similar experiences, especially with slickdeals. Somebody will find a coupon or loophole at Office Depot, for example, that lets you get an amazing laptop for something like $400. When I arrived to take advantage of such a deal, there was already a sales clerk well versed in what I wanted and instructed to turn me away. It appears these deals become TOO popular, and the store starts to lose money from them :).

Isn't that something. I always thought that clerks must be prepared how to turn away customers ..

I have the same problem here where I live. There is not a store that I have found anywhere, even when I got on trips, that will accept a coupon printed from the internet. Sometimes when I am using a coupon that was sent directly from the company the store give me a hard time and there have been times that they refused to accept it because they thought it was printed from the internet. Thank you for thinking of this great discussion, littlefranciscan. Happy Posting.

Ah your welcome ..babyjane. I think that the stores should consider well that they are in the end losing out..Don't the companies that offer coupons reimburse the stores? It probably is a little of wait for them to get their money back and that's why they fuss?

What you have to do is complain to the manufacturer of the item that the coupon is for. Tell them I went to such and such a store and wanted to buy your product and was refused. Ask them why they put out internet coupons if they are not redeemable. They might even send you some coupons by mail or insist that they replace the ones that were refused with some you can use.
I thought they had some sort of computerized system in the States that checked the authenticity of the coupons but I guess not. It is sometimes a problem here in Canada too. Unfortunately with programs like photoshop crooked people can make up phoney coupons which makes it difficult for the honest shopper.
This will not change until enough people complain to the manufacturers and they decide to change the system. Complain to the website that puts out these coupons too.

Yes: I guess we have to create a humungous petition nationwide asking stores to stop prohibiting the use of online coupons..

ive checked out a couple of those coupons sites. however i havent ever printed anything out. usually because there is only like 1 coupon that i would actually use, and i just dont see it being worth the paper and ink to print it versus the cents off lol! if there were more coupons for items i use, then i would.
i didnt know that some stores wont accept internet printed coupons. now im even more reluctant to try it, i get stressed out enough as it is when i venture to the store lol!

Yes if you already have enough stress..you may not want to try to use these coupons in the stores..I do like what a previous person mentioned about calling a store ahead of time..I would suppose Walmart would always take them.

I print coupons online all the time, and I use them all the time. I use them at walmart, they've never told me that they couldn't take them, now I don't know about any other stores, we have another grocery store in our town, but I've never tried to use them there. So far, I haven't run into that problem yet. I like using coupons, any way to save a little money helps.

Glad to hear that you have no problems with online coupons at walmart or anywhere else..Not everyone can say the same..I think it depends on the state or location.

I always use coupons and most of mine are printed from home. I always make sure I know the store policy first before using them. I always ask if I can print in black and white and most stores around me take the coupons and will do so in black and white. I have heard that a lot of people have trouble with printed coupons at wal-mart and they are suppose to take them they are one of the few stores that I have found their coupon policy on their website.

Yea I think walmart is pretty good about accepting coupons..I know they even have the policy if you can find a better price on an sales flyer of another store...they will match it you bring in the sales flyer and circle the price.
