Do you know anyone who has this disease? How do you cope with having a family member who has this disease? Are you a cregiver for anyone or is your family member in a specialized nursing home for people who have dementia?

My grandmother has dementia, and she lives in a nursing home. She has had dementia for many years and in the beginning it wasn't too bad, but now she has severe memory problems. The nursing home where she is living is a very nice place and there is a great atmosphere. I have been a caregiver myself and I have worked in different nursing homes. I have seen many different places, some were better than others and I very happy that the nursing home where my grandmother lives is nice a place.

My grandmother had dementia before she had passed away. She was moved into my aunts house while my grandfather was moved into a nursing home because he needed special care. We ended up having to put her into the nursing home with him. She could not handle the change of not being with him. She kept trying to wander off. It is not an easy thing to deal with.
