It's not about stuff!!

I think it has gotten out of hand, that merchants get people so frenzied over low prices on Black Friday that they are thinking of nothing but getting what they want and not about what they need or others need. Sometimes I feel that I was happiest when I didn't get alot for Christmas except for two gifts one bought one homemade. Nowadays it merchants don't seem to care but getting that buck. If we cut back on gifts it will help our children realize that it isn't all about the gifts and also they would appreciate the ones they got also instead of having so many that you find new toys never played with in the closet 6 months later never played with left in their forgotten. Because they get so many they have no sense of how special a toy really is. You know homeless people or people who have nothing appreciate getting things the most and are happy when they do. It shouldn't b about how much we spend on each other it should be what we feel and think on the Holidays.

Hello ersmommy1! I agree with you that now some people think christmas holidays as receiving many gifts and forgot the concept of living together.

Amen to that. It nice to give and receive but it does not have to be material items. You can offer to help people by lending them a hand instead or just by showing kindness.

My kids are leaning that life is not about how much stuff you can get. They do get more toys and junk than they really need, but they understand, at least I hope, that there are more important things in life.

yeah you are so correct..holidays is meant to spend some time with family..where we are busy all the week earning for family..so on holidays we can sit together discuss ,eat together,laugh,dance together....
