We finally finished painting the front porch!! It looks almost brand new!! Hubby and I worked every chance we had to get it and the back deck finished and so far we got the front done!! Another things checked off of our to do list!! Yippeeee!! Gosh it feels so good to get something else done! It seems we've been working on this and that and the other for so long that it didn't seem that we'd ever get anything done but we sure did!! I have more pictures to post and will in your responses so please check it out and rate them for me. We get paid for the rating too, ya know? lol Tomorrow I'll be helping hubby with finishing the priming the back deck and hopefully in a day or two, that'll be done too!! Oh! Don't mind the date on the pictures because I forgot to set it or turn it off. When we change batteries, it goes right back to this date. Phoooey!! lol Have you ever had a number of projects going on at once and it appeared to be never ending? How did you feel when you finally get any one project finished? Good I bet!!

Looks great!! I am glad you are finally getting that off your mind. How did the sand in the paint go? Hopefully it worked for you. It is always nice to see things get finished and off your mind. The pictures were great. I rated them for you.

Are you kidding? We always have something that needs to be done and even if it gets done enough to use, it still isn't completed, but we won't go there.. I am glad you got the porch done, and it didn't take you long at all, trust me, I know that if it was my house, it wouldn't be done in years, yours only took months..

It is very pretty, though a lot of work, at least it is worth putting work into and you are blessed to have a beautiful home like that..:)

Well, it's our first house that has wooden railing and we've been here for only two years - so far but we were surprised to know that it was all wood because when we first got here, it all looked so nice and pretty and it looked like plastic which made it all the better. Lo and behold! How surprised we were to find the paint chipping off!! That's when we knew, it wasn't made of plastic. RATS!! Oh well, it's still very pretty but A LOT of work!!

Hot Damm, more good news. I have all kinds of projects that I need to get to. Its hard to get motivated when you are by yourself doing them, it does help when someone is helping. It does feel good when you get something done. Good going for both of you.

LMBO!! You bet HOT DAMN!! We're getting there Polly, slowly but surely!! Tomorrow we'll tackle another project which is the back deck. It's almost finished being primed and hubby will be doing that while I paint so in a couple of days, it should be done too!! Yippeee!! We got the woods looking pretty, the bathroom floor fixed, and now the front porch!! We're getting there!! We're getting there!! Now about you and your projects, isn't your son and dil right across the street from you? Why don't you recruit them into helping out a bit? I'm sure they will but they don't know unless you tell them, right?!

I'm one project after another. I never get finished, because as soon as one is done - 3 more jump up and get me!

Tell me about ElicBxn! I was just telling (above yours) that an old neighbor said that we're not lazy because we're always doing something! lol It is true but we get it done, what ever it is. Tomorrow it's the back deck and then rest a day or two and then we'll be heading up to my parents old place on the 2nd to paint the house they're trying to sell. It's not big at all but when painting it, it seems to be huge! lol It's about 1400 square feet, not big at all. Then this spring we'll be back into clearing the woods behind our house so we can fence it in so our dogs can enjoy all of our property instead of just part of it.

Congratulations on a job well done. You guys are doing a great job. I can see why it took you all so long you wanted to do it right and you did. What are some of the other jobs you have on your to do list. Have you and hubby put up the Christmas decorations yet? I gave you a rating on the photograph too, waiting on the rest of them.

Thank you! I put up the pictures in the responses above yours so check them out if you'd like! We still have the huge project of clearing the woods behind our house and then we want to get a surveyer to survey our property so we can fence it all in so our dogs can enjoy all of the land instead of parts of it. But first things first, the back deck is next and then hubby and I will be resting up to go up north to paint my parents house, the one they're trying to sell. It's only 1400 square feet but still, to paint it, it seems bigger. But hubby and I will get it done in no time, I'm sure because it's all going to be one color, WHITE. lol I don't know if I'll have the time to put Christmas decorations out or not because of having to do the painting for mom and dad. I have my house AND theirs to decorate AND the painting to do at their old house. It's NEVER ending!! We're always doing something somewhere! An old neighbor told hubby that we're not lazy people because we're always doing something! lol

Wow that's great that you finished. It's a fantastic feeling when you finish a big project. I have a lot of things going on myself like my eagle scout project for Boy Scouts, then a number of other things.

Thanks!! I like to stay busy with my life because it helps to relieve some of the stress that I've been under with my parents and their health and with my brothers being butts that they being. I'm glad to hear about your eagle scout project!! That's awesome and a heck of an achievement!! Good for you, guy!!

Thanks, my older brother actually just had his eagle board (like the final "test" if you will). He did his project in the summer. He is officially an eagle scout! I'm hoping for the same success. :0

That sense of accomplishment feels so sweet. I know for me, I feel this feeling of calm come over me every time I finish something that needs to be done. For instance, sometimes I will wait a few days too long to do my laundry and it begins to pile up. But as soon as I finish it all, I feel so good. When there are multiple task to get done, completing them all is that much more sweeter. Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment.

Oh what a feeling. Yes it is a great joy when you are working on a number of projects or just have a to do list and finally get something finished. I had lived in my house for 15 years and always kept this project list on the refrigerator. Just before I moved I checked off so many, including big projects like replacing windows and putting up vinyl siding. It's a lot of work, but when you are finished the reward is well worth it. Thanks for posting the pic and have a great day!

Oh yes! It does feel so very good to check one more thing off that long, never ending list. I have the worst procrastinating nature. But, hey! When something comes off the list I am overjoyed. I go through energy lasps.
