If you'll be bringing ONE thing... what would it be?

It just pop up in my head... What if you are on a cruise then suddenly a violent storm crosses the path of the ship you are riding that made it sink eventually... YOU have a few seconds to get A SINGLE THING or OBJECT that you would like to carry with you. What would it be and why? Pleas take into consideration that you might be stranded in a deserted island. So better think something IMPORTANT for your survival, for your happiness, ALL for your own sake. I will be happy to read your responses here. Thanks for spending some time reading this and responding to my newest discussion

i would bring KOHINOOR diamond back to India... its my dream. well i know that diamonds is a dream of every woman but yet i guess it too big a dream to think of the KOHINOOR diamond. India has lost its wealth and i wish to bring that back to the country and return its pride and lost treasure and dignity.

awww.... this is hard. when i was reading thefirst part of the discussion what i have in mind to bring is a big garbage plastic bag for if i fill that with air it can bring me safe to the shore like a floater. but when you said that we have to consider being stranded in an island i think i will bring my cellphone wrap it in a plastic so i can call for help. i think that is the best thing i can bring and i can do.

To tell the truth, if I had to pick only one thing, I would go down with the ship trying to decide.Everything I brought I would want to save so I would go down with the ship.

why not try to save the ship?! LOL but kidding aside... it is still a thing which has everything inside from the things you value the most and your loveones who are close to your heart... if and only if you have POWERS to do that. WHY NOT?!

Well I'll grab first a life jacket or anything that would make me survive before reaching a safe place. Of course if I have companions on board I'll save them too. Also I might take my ID's and some cash if ever I am in that situation. If I have more time I might take my luggage as well.

Among those given things which ONE would you definitely choose? Only one thing would be brought with you. Think hard and you might be rewarded with the BEST response here. :) Good luck my katukayo. :)

Well, since you specified thing, saving my family is out, though that would be my first answer... my children. However, if I couldn't only grab on THING, it would be my purse. I carry an oversize purse, and you never know what will be in there, because I tuck all sorts of odds and ends into it when I'm out and about. Chances are good that there would be lots of things in my bag that would be put to good use on a deserted island, including safety pins and chocolate bars.

I agree with you chameleondream, my family would DEFINITELY be first, but a "thing" would be my very oversized purse. I usually have candy, a pack of dried fruit and water. Oh my who knows, it could even have part of a meal I had that day!! haha! Sometimes I carry a small flashlight as well, and I'm never without a cell phone! (though I don't know if I'd have a signal!!) I've been known to carry rolled up articles of clothing! So yes, the purse would be the thing!

I would probably bring my wallet. Its not actually the wallet that's important but what's in it. Stuff like identification cards, pictures of my loved ones, or something that would identify me in case i didn't make it. Lucky for me i don't ride ships. That wouldn't even happen to me. ha ha ... :)

To BURNEK: That was a great choice something that could identify you or carry things that matters to you THE MOST... good for you, you dont ride ships.LOL To Ladynetz: What if there is no signal? Too bad... LOL just kidding

My cellphone, so I can call for help. I have it 24/7 on me. If I'll be on a cruise, I'll be careful to have a waterproof cover for it.

I would take my luggage bag and pack everything in that I can, food, candy, bible, clothes, cosmetics, purse. Usually on a cruise, they will put your bags in the cabin and so you can stuff everything in there. They do not keep your luggage bags separate because you have your clothes in them. So I would be all right.

I dunno what i will be bringing unless i'm really stuck in that situation.. lol =D Because right now, there are so many things that are important to me, and i need those things.. But if i really have to decide now, i guess i will bring my jacket with me.. Because jacket can float on the sea surface, and i can use it to support me.. Also, if i happen to be stranded on a deserted island, the jacket can be dried easily, and it can keep me warm thru the night.. And it's always easy to survive a hot day, but never easy to survive a frezzing night ^_^ Thus, jacket is my choice ^_^

probably my large tote bag with my camera and journal and pens and pencils. so i can take notes in a journal about being stranded on an island and write a book afterwards when i get rescued. (i am assuming i will be rescued and not die on the island).

And then you can write a book all about your experience on that island. PRETTY NEAT and a great idea. :) But i hope it will never happen... I mean being stranded on an island. BUT still with a book. :)

My purse. Because just in case something happened my ids are in there...and my checkbook is in there and other stuff that could help me possible survive an island getaway. My chapstick, girly things and my cell phone. Hopefully I would be able to get service on the island and hopefully I could dry it out enough to be able to at least send a text message to someone.

ACtually I encounter this queston everytime I watched beauty contest. I didn't expected that I will be answering this question though I am not one of the candidates for a beauty contest lol.. If I will be to ask that,I would rather bring my rosary with me. I believe that everthing can be overcome through prayers. So instead of bringing other thigs, I will just bring my rosary with me. Thank you!

great... bringing your travel bag with you... but isnt it heavy?! You might dropped it or it might not do you good in swimming towards the shore. Just another what if! But still nice answer

A knife. It has lots of useful functions. Cell phones and wallets are very unlikely to be useful on a deserted island.

This is very hard - I would have to assume I would have the item on the cruise already. A copy of War and Peace would be good, because it would take a long time to read and I'd never bother in normal circumstances. But my iPod would be nice, as it has my son singing a song on it, and that would make me happy. I'd have a problem when it ran out of battery charge, though.

The thing that I would have to grab would have to be my notebooks or one of my notebooks. I usually write down various ideas in separate notebooks in hopes of creating something with them in the future. I would probably save my song lyrics first and then probably music written for bass that I have and then others as well. It would basically just not really be that cool in a violent storm because we would all lose something that's of value to us.
