How long can you spend without talking to anyone or having any contact with anyone and live your life.I dont think i can live a day without talking to someone or even without seeing people around.

a few days actually... when im real ticked off or depressed... at my parents home or my own, during my university days or now... i can go a few days without talking to anyone if im not a "happy camper" per say. Unless you count "leave me alone" or "im fine" when im bothered by people i really don't feel like talking to =P i tend to clam up when sad or angry because i can have one venomous mouth and might say... no usually will say things a little to honestly and end up hurting someone with my words. So, my not talking at times is a blessing, my husband is learning the hard way to let me cool down before he tries to talk to me after HE messes up big time.

Isolation isn't always a bad thing even though it is tough to go through and also very strenuous. I've been through detention centers before and in some places I couldn't talk without asking permission and couldn't talk to others around me without fear of endangering my freedom even more.

I'm not really sure how long before it got to me but surely it could be more than a day or two. I love my alone time and do not get bored or angry.

well for me, i can survive isolation as long as i have internet and a laptop.i may not have people around but i can interact with other people around through the internet. but when i have nobody around and i got nothing to do, i guess i can't survive that for long.

Hmm, interesting. I used to think I wouldn't be able to live in isolation for more than an hour, however, now I think I would be able to last a while. It would probably mess with my head (as it would with anybody's) but living a few days in solidarity wouldn't be an impossible feat. This year I've become more of a withdrawn person and can keep myself semi-entertained. While my mom was away for a month during the beginning of the school year, I realized that I don't always need people around me to feel good (although I did have a tennis group every night and went to school... but still, nine hours of no talking at home proved that I'm not exactly the most social person xD). I wouldn't last very long, but a relatively large sum of days wouldn't kill.

It really messes with your head and thats a main problem of being isolated. if you can overcome that you can certainly survive for a longertime being isolated.

Interesting discussion. ^_^ I think I can last for a pretty long time without anyone around. I'm not te most social person there is, and I can easily find other things to do that don't involve interaction with other people. I'm not sure if I would end up the most stable person, mentally... xD but I know that I could last a long time in isolation.

every evening its a habit of mine to meet and roam outside with friends .. and for the last few months i am working hard and am being isolated except for weekends and i am becoming so frustrated daily in the evenings. I hate being alone.

I think I can live for a few days doing my pending work and research. If I have a few novels with me I can live a few more days.
