Was There Ever A Vacation You Took Where You Were Just Miserable the Whole Time?

I've never experienced that before on a vacation. I don't take many vacations but all of them have been enjoyable experiences.

I don't like family reunions that much. Theres too many people I hardly see usually at the family reunion and not again so I don't really know them that well.

Thankfully I can't recall any vacation taken that ended up being a miserable experience but I have definitely taken business trips that were really bad for me. I spent two days in Singapore for example and I was sick with the flu the whole time I was there. Flying on a pressurized plane and then having to stay in a hotel and attend meetings in another country while you are feeling like crap is not nice at all. Then of course I had to fly back home again. The worst thing of all though was that I couldn't even taste all the local food properly! lol.

I went on a vacation in 2004 to visit my daughter in California. She took me to Vegas and I was sick the whole time I was there with strep throat. Ended up at the emergency room and riding along the vegas strip looking for a Walgreens to get medicine. I'll never forget it. I tried to make the best of it because she really did want me to have a good time. But I recovered and all is well today, except now I got a bad head cold.

Hey, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Hopefully your Strep Throat will.

I have often heard that statement. Unfortunately, the strep throat had to go back to Florida with me. Believe me if I could have left it in Vegas I would have. I just hate being ill, wish I knew of a way to ship this head cold of mine to Vegas. Looks like I'm stuck with it until it runs its course.

I've had a few where there were some bad spots during the vacation but not an entire terrible vacation. When I was 15, I went to Mexico on vacation and got 2nd degree sunburn and had to wear a towel for 3 days. Another time I went to Branson on vacation and got into a fight with my brother's g/f on the way back. I don't do alot of vacations so it's not a huge deal for me. I do try not to go with ppl that annoy me though. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

Not me, I can be happy someplace where I do not have to cook or clean. I am not fussy. I love cruises the best as they wait on you. It does not have to be perfect, just being away makes me happy.

On my trip around the world I went to Malaysia and I had miserable time because I was ill and then had an accident. I took the ferry from Sumatra to Penang. I was really sick for the whole journey. Arriving I got a rickshaw and carried on being sick. I stayed in a dorm in the youth hostel. I had a high fever and drinking water made me sick. It took a week for me to get better and I felt weak and ill after such an awful illness. I felt so unwell when I was sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur. Then I took a train and a bus to Mersing. I began to feel well again and I was planning a few days on a tropical island a short boat ride away. One dark evening I went out to get something to eat. I thought I was stepping into the road however I fell down an open drain an really hurt my leg. I was given a pair of crouches and I had to go to the island because it was Chinese New Year. If I had stayed I would have been alone and unable to walk without support. I went into the sea to get off my bandage and my leg looked horrible all around my knee. I couldn't bend my leg and it swelled up. When I got back to Mersing I hired a taxi to drive for four hours to the border of Singapore. I flew home from there at the end of my trip. I am happy to stay that Malaysia and Singapore are both lovely countries.

So far nothing at all and I don't want that to happen either in the coming days. Somehow it is because I have to complete a whole 1 year work before I would be eligible for a vacation and because of work and immigration changes some vacation that I've planned were canceled already. But the good thing is, once I started with my new work, I would be able to go on vacation twice every year and more to that it is a paid vacation including airfare.
