I stumbled upon this video on Yahoo, starring a Chinese girl who is bringing art into the kitchen. Well she basically uses vegetables to create incredible pieces of artworks. It's amazing to think that she had replicated the famous painting called Mona Lisa by using Tofu. She also used cabbages for Marilyn Monroe's portrait which according to the video, it has been sold almost immediately to a foreign buyer. Watch the video here: http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=10829921&ch=4226715&src=news What do you think?

That's nice, and it's not an easy piece of work either.. hehe ^_^ Tofu itself is so soft, and that it has to be handled with care, and deep frying them to the apporiate colors b4 she can bring out the exact whole feel of mona lisa.. hehe ^_^ In singapore, we have done it once too, but we used toasted bread instead.. hehe And the result that came out, was good.. haha

Yes, I have seen this before. I guess that you can call it "green" art as when she is done she can recycle it into food, which turns into nutrition and then into fertilizer!!! LOL

These are certainly fantastic - especially the big pictures with lots of characters in them. She certainly has a lot of patience and creativity.

Hello ronreyes I do think she is very talented but what happens when the vegetables go off? You'll be stuck with a smelly, brown and rotten picture!

My only comment would be that Art can be expressed in different forms ,and it doesn't have to be conventional.

It is a constant source of amazement what people call art,the unmade bed for instance,The boat that was a ahed that is now a boat again.Excuse the pun what ever floats your boat.It has obviolsy taken the artist time and patience with these ideas and get someone to back them. Some of them are very clever and although I like a nice Constable or Monai I am not completely blind to others tastes ,I might not always understand them and I must have laughed at a few,but Art is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. It must be bettar to get a reaction even if it is only humor then nothing at all. They make enough money don't they fair play to them.
