I just can't help but notice that most of the people that me and my colleagues talked to today are so grumpy (I work for a call center as technical support). They easily get irritated and there a lot of impatient people today. Considering that today is the start of the week for us Just imagine how difficult to handle calls like this after a day off.
To those who celebrated Thanksgiving... any of you here who experience problems with their internet? or are you just generally feeling grumpy after a very long weekend especially now that you had to go to work again. Please do share your thoughts.
Happy posting everybody!

We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia, but I've noticed people are like that after Christmas. I think it's a culmination of eating too much, drinking too much, spending too much - and going to too many parties. Also, having to be polite to relatives they don't see very often (and don't like very much) can cause a lot of stress - and when it's over, everyone collapses in a heap! Whew.

It could be they are grumpy because the weekend is gone and they have to go back to work. They could be fighting with family members. They could be worried about how their going to buy gifts for the holidays. But from what I gather if you are technical support for internet, me and my family get very grumpy when our internet is not working because we are addicted to it. LOL. Happy My Lotting :-)

No internet combined with working after a long weekend and talking to a person who got back from their off... tsk Just imagine what would be the result... LOL.
But I tried my best not to show my grumpiness. Anyway there we can always press the mute button! Haha!

Oh, maybe that is why my husband downloaded on me the last couple nights..I wanted to start a discussion on it, but whenever I do lately, people who have no idea what I am going through starts giving really bad advice and then they download on me, so no more of that, even though I used to get support and encouragement when I did, I guess those people moved on..Not that I didn't get any good replies on it, but the negative ones really hurt, so I don't bother anymore..
So you think maybe he is doing this because he had to go back to work after having a 4 day weekend?
And besides him making me feel grumpy, my computer is too..It had been freezing up more and I have had to restart more often than before..I keep the temp files and cookie cleared and do the scanning of virus and spyware, and defragmented just 2 weeks ago..I was going to defragment again in a couple weeks, but if this continues, I may do it sooner..

What I mean by "downloading" on me is they yell and say not nice things..(This is putting it nicely)..As for my computer, I just started a discussion, I no longer have thatcomputer running..Don't know what is wrong, but I won't be on as much..:(

Personally I think anyone would be grumpy if there was a problem with their internet. I'd definitly be grumpy. I get even grumpier when I call those call centers, because even though they're supposed to be for technical support (as in you'd think they'd have someone on the line who knows a thing or 2 about computers) they are no help at all. I usually know more about computers than the person I get on the line with, and that is so irritating.
Plus, people are generally more grumpy on Mondays. Most had a long weekend, and don't want to be returning to work.
I don't think it has much to do with Thanksgiving.

It has got a lot to do with it actually but not only during thanksgiving but usually every after holidays or after very long weekends like what happened to thanksgiving. We know that because it always happens.
Most people don't have work on thanksgiving day and the next day right? So that means a very long weekend. Most people wouldn't want it to end unfortunately monday always comes. LOL
I understand some people you might have talked to in technical support maybe under training or something. But you know the people we talked to last monday, goodness whether their knowledgeable or not-so-good with computers... They are grumpy. I hated it. But I just did my best to handle it properly.

I'm afraid the Holiday pressure is just starting and with all the bad news coming in people are going to react worse then usual this season. Hang in there, it's hard dealing with the public. Just keep smiling, they can hear that over the phone.

I haven't been online till a few moments ago, My internet is a bit slower right now then usual though. Maybe they are grumpy because they had to rub elbows with family or in laws they didn't want to but had to because of the Holiday.

I guess people don't want to come back to work. It is hard to come back after a person has had a good holiday with family and friends. Or maybe it is just because they have to get up early again! It isn't much fun to work with grumps, is it.

It's always like that when it comes to after long weekends.. lol =D After having so many rest days, whom will have the mood to work, when they have just adjusted themselves to non working mood.. lol =D
I always hated long weekends because my whole working momentum will be affected and i dun like the feeling of rebuilding up everything again.. haha

The good ole between Turkey Day and Christmas rush! Everyone starts to get grumpy and crabby. Pressures to get ready for the coming holiday rushes in right after Thanksgiving. Decorations out and put up. Buying the presents we haven't gotten yet, or getting started and done before the next holiday. At least that is my opinion as to why it happens. It does seem that people get crabbier earlier these days, and there is less joy and looking forward to the Christmas celebration. I always try to keep a smile on my face even though people are being grumpy, but I hear ya. It is hard to take when it seems like everyone is snotty to you for no real reason.

Hello yuna15
Maybe everybody is a bit stressed rather than grumpy. The stress of getting ready for thanks giving followed quickly with getting ready for Christmas! Or maybe it is that they didn't get enough time off and one day off wasn't long enough! O h well I don't really know but I do hope that your week improves. This time of year people should be happy and looking forward to Christmas like me, but then I have already finished my Christmas shopping!! LOL

My week is doing good now. Thank you!
Me and my colleagues already received our 13th month pay this week! So there's no reason to be grumpy...
Early Christmas shopping? Nice... That's good to avoid the holiday rush. Hehe. I am also looking forward to attending a few parties this month. Thanks for the response my friend!

About your computer, I suggest that you try uninstalling other programs you don't use. It might help speed up the computer a little bit.
