I don't wake easily. One time my sister came running in the room trying to shake and wake me up and was screaming and I never did wake up. My familiy is thinking about getting a fire alarm put in my room because i'm such a heavy sleeper and I guess you could say a heavyweight.

I am a hard sleeper and the only thing that really wakes me up is my alarm clock. I do not know why at other times I am hard to wake up. It had got to the point where people said they have called my house phone and cell phone and I did not answer and they be right there by my head but I always hear my alarm clock. My daughter is also a hard sleeper and the only thing that wakes her up is if it is storming outside...crazy huh.

I am a very light sleeper but it hasn't always been so. When I became a mother for the first time I was worried that I wouldn't hear my child when she woke in the night. I didn't have to worry though. The first sound she made my eyes popped wide open.
Now that my kids have grown I still have the ability to wake at the slightest need. I sleep soundly, and even sleep well if it's noisy, but if I am needed I am instantly awake.

When I fall asleep I fall into a deep sleep. But I will say I do wake u easily. Have always been that way. Sometimes when I wake up I don't want to get up especially if I have had less than 4 hours of sleep. I have a step daughter that is like that. My sisters use to be that way hard to wake up or woke up grumpy. lol

i can be waken up easily. when there is a commotion, even the slightest one, i would be able to wake up. but it takes time for me to register what is going on.. well, it is because i also wake up early in the morning. and there are traumas that i went because i did not wake up early. so right now, even if you will walk, catwalk, i will still recognize you. or so i thought..

I'm a light sleeper and I'm usually awake before my husband is .... it can be both an advantage and disadvantage because I sometimes think my husband is lucky that he seems so deep in sleep in the morning while I'm already restless with thoughts as to my task for the day

I used to wake up quite difficult when I was younger. But the older I becomes, I guess the easier I can wake up. When I was younger, I couldn't hear the alarm rings sometimes. But, I could easily wake up when the phone rang. So, if I really need to wake up, I'd ask my friend to give me a call.

My wife says that I die when I go to sleep, but I have enough awareness that I can feel the slightest movement when my wife or the dogs move even a little...

Your post reminds me of my sister. She is like that also and we always tease her by saying that maybe even if we put fire alarm on her bed she will not still wake up.Imagine, all of us are awake and noisily chatting with each other while she is still having a good sleep.
About me, I am not that hard to be awaken.Since I was a child, I was trained to wake up easily by myself alone. I am like that because although I was still little, my mother started to give me responsibilities at house. As a child, I love to watch tv and play with other children but mom will not allow me to do those unless I finish the household chores.Up to now that I am a grown up, I carry those attitudes.I always wake up early and do my responsibilities.

I am not a heavy sleeper but i used to be I know exactly hoe you feel. When I moved out of my parents, I was always afarid of being late to work cos mom wasn't there to wake me up. The only way my mom was able to wake me up was by pulling the curtains down so when I moved out, I decided that i wont pull the cuttains and now I wake up as soon as my bedroom gets bright. I hope that I have helped

elmiko,
It depends on what's waking me up. If I set an alarm the night before and it's a new alarm, I need to listen to how it sounds so I'll know what to wake-up to and then I wake up very easily to that sound. This is why I usually can't set my alarm to music, because there's no way of telling what song is going to be playing, and I often have music playing in my dreams.
If there are other loud noises while I am sleeping, none of them will wake me up, just my alarm.
Another thing that will wake me up easily is the sound of my daughter's voice or her cry. That's a maternal thing I think.
Happy MyLotting!

yes i can easily wake up even if i just heard a sound. some said that the reason sometimes why people sleep heavy is because of tiredness or stress.
