it is my officemate's birthday today. he celebrated it in the office by treating us to free afternoon snack. he brought spaghetti, some meat bread and softdrinks. we took a break from work and ate while chatting and laughing together. our boss did not join us but the get-together was with his blessing. what about you? do you do that in your office too?

We did celebrate birthdays at our office, I was actually in charge of the birthday committee. It would just be a cake and everyone would sing to the birthday person. But it was my job to pick up the cake and get everyone to sign the birthday card and then I would go around gathering everyone in to the kitchen area to sing to the person. Then I would cut the cake and make sure everyone got some, then I would clean up and go back to work. When it was my birthday someone else took over for me and did all that.

My officemates usually do that, they would prepare snacks for everyone in the office. We would take a short break to eat and chat a little. But we also try not to stay too long since it would not be nice for everyone to be in the pantry and nobody is answering the phone. Our office is at the 3rd floor and our pantry is at the first floor that is why when we go there we don't hear the phone. I don't celebrate that way since my birthday is usually included in the holiday break.

I don't have an office, but I do get a birthday once a year and today is my day. I am spending the day at my daughter and son in laws place and his folks are visiting also. We have two evenings of Christmas Partys for our wonderful Grandchildren. So again this is a very good Birthday for me. Thank You.

Hello Rainegurl. I have never celebrated in the office, but I celebrated my holiday for one time in a nice restaurant / hotel with my best friend as well as my colleague. It was just the two of us and it was very romantic with the nice food in the nice room. I love it and still miss it, a special day of mine that will never be forgotten.

I work from home so don't share with anyone. I never shared with my workmates my birthday as I used to be a nurse and they did horrible thnigs to you, like throwing you in a cold bath etc

I have never celebrated my birthday in the office because I have never worked in an office long enough to have a birthday in. It would be fun to eat spaghetti and ice cream and lechon on my birthday at the office. Cheers!!!

Yeah, it is fortunately. It is an additional custom for us friends to make a little collection for the birthday or anniversary. After that, cake is from ourside and meals are from the birthday boys side. Happy mylotting

In the past 7 years that I was in my previous job, I never celebrated my birthday there. When my birthday landed on a weekday, I always file a birthday leave in advanced. I want my birthday to be celebrated without pressure and work involved . Although my former officemates were so thoughtful because they still greeted me through text messages. The next day after my birthday that I come to work, they all teased me that I took a leave because I did not want to treat them for pizza. They were absolutely correct. I had no budget because my birthday always fall 5 days before payday wherein I eventually had no more money at all.

When I used to work, it is a tradition for us to treat our colleagues whenever it's our birthday. During my last birthday at work, we ordered for a large size pizza and eat together at our pantry.

yes i do celebrate my birthday in the office, there's nothing wrong with it as long as it didn't affect your work while you're celebrating it. it's a good feeling if you're able to celebrate god's gift to you which is to add another year in your life, to your friends. but don't forget to celebrate it with your family.
