Could you sleep even the radio is on?

I'm a music lover. I'm more likely to listen to music than watching television. Music gives me a nice moods. Sometimes I fell asleep while listening to it. Until i got used to it and even while I'm reading I wanted to have a music on the background. But some said they can't sleep if there is a music on. It disturbs their mind. I asked them if they like music and they said yes. I was wondering why this people love music but they don't like it on when they're going to sleep. I don't know what's the matter with them. Just wondering. You guys see it confusing or they has the point that they just like to be peaceful while sleeping.

Hi there. Yes, but that's during High School days I used to sleep with my radio on until morning. But now I couldn't sleep with some noise, it will definitely distract my sleep. Well, it does matter to me and I consider it because I am not getting any younger, funny but it's true but though I still love listening music some times when I'm in the mood...I used to write some poems and letters too before while listening to the radio and of course I am waiting for my favorite song to be played. Keep it up and keep on posting, happy mylot.

Unless I am not feeling tired, generally any kind of noise won't stop me from falling asleep. I slept standing up before and it is not recommended LOL But I do prefer soothing jazz from the radio rather than tv noises. I think noises from tv are much sharper and thus more disturbing. Especially in the night, radio DJs tend to speak softer and slower, it is almost like a lullaby :)

No! I am a terribly sensitive sleeper. the lightest gust of wind would wake me up unless I was really fatigued. For me, music fills up a blank space. Like when I'm driving or running on the treadmill, I like to listen to music. But when I'm going to sleep, I need to have the blank space. Otherwise, i can't sleep!

When I was young I used to have to have my radio on to go to sleep. Now that I'm older I can do without it. I have noticed that when I sleep with the radio on I would wake partially up all through the night. But when I turned it off I didn't notice waking up at all. I read an article about a study that was done that said that when we have any kind of noise going on while we were sleeping we would not get into the deep restful sleep that our bodies and mind needed to refresh itself. I really believe that is true because I am always more tired the mornings after I have slept with my radio on all night.

Well i guess they just want their sleep to be peaceful, I know some people who does'nt like to sleep while there's a music on, it's probably they're only time to relax, set aside music for a while let their mind flush away their stress by being peaceful even in their sleep.. Me myself is a music lover and I listen to all types of music and a member of an alternative band here in my town, and sometimes i'd like to sleep with my radio on and it feels good. Sometimes music has became of a part of dreams like a soundtrack of my dream and woke the next day falling in love with someone (it's a weird feeling...hehehe!). And sometimes I like to sleep without listening to music because I want to let it go for a moment because i've been listening music for the whole day while playing in the band.. so I wanted to clear out mind in my sleeping time and forget music for a meantime.. (add me to your list of friends mica, thanks)

If I"m working nightshifts and really need sleep I will put on music and use it as a white noise so it will distract my mind and make me focus on that subconciously. My brain focuses on the music and won't be interupted with other noises. It's very difficult sometimes to sleep during the day after working all night so this helps me. Have a good day

I usually go to sleep with the radio on. I rarely use music, usually talk radio. I get interested in the talk and it goes on and on and sort of tends to drone after awhile. If I concentrate on the radio I am distracted from thinking about my problems and worrying. Also it tends to drown out the little noises that you do not hear during the day, the creaks of the house, the wind, and the neigbours voices.

I think I'm more like you - if given a choice between falling asleep with the television on or the radio, I would go with the radio. I just hate listening to someone watching the television while I'm trying to fall asleep (especially when they turn the volume high). However, I probably wouldn't be able to fall asleep with the radio easily either because I don't know what song is going to be on. xD I like falling asleep while listening to my iPod most, because then I can choose calm songs that help me relax. =P I can't fall asleep while listening to loud or fast music, it just gets me more energetic. I have a sleeping playlist and sometimes I'll listen to it before falling asleep, especially if I'm not very tired. I'm just so used to it now and every time I hear these songs, they make me want to sleep. xD Sometimes I'm just not in the music mood though, and then I'll listen to silence. =P

I usually turn the music on TO go to sleep. I don't like the quiet when I go to bed at night, although I live on a busy street so is is rarely quiet, anyway. But I can sleep through just about any noise, except maybe a baby crying. Maybe even that if I know that the mother is there to care for the child. I had my phone ring several times the other morning and only heard it 2 times. I used to be a light sleeper all the time since I raised 4 children, but sometimes I can sleep through anything now that I am living alone. It seems that music would be soothing unless it is loud or of a heavy medal type and would put someone to sleep. I could sleep with any of it on.

Yes, I can sleep even the radio is on but it would depend upon the type of music that I am hearing and also the volume of it. Usually I fall asleep when the volume is soft and low. I myself is a music lover and music is my passion. Through music, I can relate my experiences in life to the song. By the way, welcome to myLot. I just hope you would enjoy your stay here. Keep posted! God speed!

Yes, i can Radio and tv both. Sometimes not on purpose. If its the radio, its usually on purpose. The tv is usually accidently. I guess when i lay down to watch tv i should always use the sleep timer. LOL. I have some CDs that are sounds of thunderstorms and things like that. When i worked a graveyard shift i found them very relaxing to sleep by. As well as the radio turned down very low.

Yes, I love music. I can not listen to it and read. When I read I like it to be silent. I like to image myself as being there so I need to concentrate and make sure that I'm understand every little detail. As far as sleeping I guess it would depend on what type of music it is. If is slow and mellow and low I would not have any problems going to sleep, but if it is upbeat I can see how that might be a problem.

Yea, but for me I'm in a quiet place because while I'm reading I like to act like I'm there in the story observing.

i hate sleeping when it is really quite because the littlest noises bother me like dripping faucets or a tapping noise. so i started sleeping with the radio and a fan and i love it because it drowns out all the noises. i dont think i could go to sleep without a radio or something going in the background!
