We have not gotten a singe Christmas card this year. I know it is still early but we usually get at least a few by now. I wonder if more people are not sending Christmas cards this year because of the economy. Have you noticed a decline in the amount cards you are receiving this year? Are you not sending out Christmas cards this year beacause of the economy and having to tighten up your spending?

I will probably send christmas cards this year. I haven't done it yet but I should get to it in the next week. I haven't recieved any cards from anyone yet. It is possible that it is still to early.

I didn't send out near as many as usual and I sure didn't get as many either. I ended up with 6 from gather friends, 2 from work, 1 from a gal in a refund group and 1 from my aunt and that was it.
I had 2 strings hung to hang them on and didn't even fill the first string so I was disappointed.

30 years ago I was sending out about 75 christmas cards every year! For years I did this and would get about 10-15 back. I still sent them every year. Finally, I started weeding them down and still sent 40-50 and still only got 10-15 back. I still sent them out! I finally just got tired of always sending and not receiving and figured 20 years is plenty long enough to "work at it" and "give a chance" and all that, so I just kept the 10-15 that I got and the next year only sent to those people. But those started to dwindle over the years and for probably the last 5-8 years, I have only gotten 2-3 christmas cards - and that includes one from the car dealer I buy from and use for maintenance and am on their mailing list and my insurance guy and this year got one from my neice in the army in Iraq.

We have only gotten a couple so far, one from an old work buddy, and one from a Real Estate Agent that used to work with my mom, who sends one every year. One of my aunts gave me cards for the kids with money in them, but she did not mail them, just handed them to me. My wife takes care of cards and such and she says when she gets one from someone she sends them one back. We have gotten a lot less than previous years.

No, I think a lot of people are sending e-cards, you can do more with them and they are fun to watch on your computer. A card cost a buck at Dollar General, if you can't afford that I don't know what to do.

that is a reason which i can understand. even my friends have not thought about their xmas plan yet and normally, they would had already done so in november so the crisis is definitely affecting our lives and people thoughts are on them rather than xmas. i have not send out any cards and would only send emails to my friends and text messaging cos i am not in a different country and it is not feasible for me to send posts or cards. An email or text messaging would suffice and achieve the same purpose.
