How Old Are You Mentally?

I don't think that many of us don't act our age. I've seen adults have the mental capacity of a young child sometimes, and I've seen young adults have the sophistication of an adult. This can be either temporary or long-term. =P In general, do you think you're older mentally? Younger? Or do you think you're just right? I think that I act older than I am right now (15), but I can be young sometimes. I don't think I'm completely mature, but I think that I'm able to compromise and analyze situations better than most people my age. I've seen the way they act, and many courses of action they take seem irrational or too obviously unexperienced to me - even though I'm the same age, I probably would have chosen a more logical solution. I have my moments when I'm completely childish though. ^_^ You? =P

I don't know I think that my mental level is much more developed then the average seventeen year old and I think that I naturally just think on a higher level then most other people. I know that I'm ready for adulthood and I don't question my maturity for a second because I know I'll always be doing just fine.

That's great that you're ready for maturity. ^_^ It sounds like you really are more mentally developed than other people your age, especially compared to some I can think of now. =P

I'm 27 and sometimes I don't think I have the sense that God gave a five year old. I'm almost to my 28th birthday and I keep thinking, shouldn't I feel older? I still feel like jumping on a roller coaster and staying up late. Yet I have the problems that go with being a "mature" person. By the way, from your post I would never guess that you were only fifteen.

Hello, Zezloler. I believe that I am younger mentally than my real age. I am sixteen, but I do not think like a sixteen year old do. In fact, I believe that there is no pattern to how should a sixteen year old boy think. However, I do think that my mental age must be somewhere around 6. The belief that nothing is impossible, the will to keep going and believing that no one can stop me, all those kind of things makes me think I am mentally six. As you might already know, everybody have mature and childish moments. But we can all see it in the result of our own choices. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

You are young enough to want to act your age or older but as you grow older you will find that you may wish to reverse this. I am 52 and I have no idea and no desire to act the way some people think I should act. I will always be young in my mind. I think that once you get past 25 your mind does not get older. Well some people might but I try and keep my mind young. There is nothing wrong with being childish.

Well I am 22 years old, and I think that I act somewhere from 25 and up. I am a lot more mature then lots of my friends my age. Lots of my friends in their twenties still act as if they were a teenager. Well things change when you are a grown up. Everyone learns from there mistakes but sometimes learning them earlier in life like I did at 16 can change a persons life and make them mature a lot sooner then they had to. I have been living on my own since I was 15 years old. I had to do things for myself where parents normally would have for their children. I had to learn from that, to grown up and be responsible. I think I have a little bit more education and common sense then some people my age. But everyone learns from there own life and mistakes so I can't really judge them on that, but its the way I think of it.

I have often been told that I am wiser than my years. That being said, I do normally act more mature mentally than my age, but I do have times when the kid at heart in me comes to surface and I play around like a kid. I think that once in a while I pout like a kid too.

I think they have a computation about our mental age but I don't know how. For me, I think I think older than my age although sometimes, I have my time that I act younger than my age too. I really don't know. Maybe all of us think the same way too.

I'm sixteen and I think I'm mentally... my age...? =P I have moments of extreme maturity and moments of complete childishness, but that's normal in everyone. I think I'm more mature than others my age over HERE. Teenagers here tend to think they're older and try to act like twenty-something-year-olds rather than their own age. It just makes them look foolish in my opinion. One day I'll look back at my teen years and, I think, feel proud of my decision to not "mingle" with those types.
