Why are nine volt batteries rectangular while others are round

Batteries are so common to all of us.I think every one noticed the shape of it.It is circular and cylindrical.We can notice that 9 volt batteries are rectangular,but other like 1.5 is circular.Is there any special reason for this.

That is a very good question. I have often wandered the very same thing. I have no clue the reason for it either.
