My daughter was with me today at the hospital when they drew blood from me. She watched them stick the needle in and asked"does it hurt mommy?" I told her no. And she kept watching the nurse tech very closely and asking her questions. The nurse kindly told she wouldn't hurt me. My daughter said " I know you won't, that is why I am here" The nurse gave her a sticker when she was done with me. LOL my body guard is my 5 year old!

What a cute story. My son is a little protective of me, but I think that is a typical 8 year old. My daughter is not protective. More like possessive.

Aww, that is sweet.Yeah my little sister is my guard dog. She will protect me even though it might mean she gets hurt and that is what I am afraid of. I always tell her it is me who is supposed to protect her but she says I protect you ..So I call her my little guardian angel..

Yup, daughters are protective towards their Moms. I dunno about sons, but I guess they could be too. Though I feel that sonny boys are more dependent. But daughters are real protective. I was when I was a kid. I used to "take revenge" on everybody I felt hurt my Mom. It got me into a lot of trouble. Even now, I feel protective, and my Mom is 25 years my senior. Funny, eh? Cheers and happy mylotting

Needlesticks always hurt. I tell this plainly to my daughter. I want to be honest with her. Not everyone agrees with my approach. Still, when it came to getting the flu shot I let her watch me get stuck and I didn't react. My idea was to let her know that it is a needle stick, but it's nothing to get alarmed over. A little thing.

I remember my daughter when she was just a kid, when my migraine pop up I just can't stand the severe pain on my head. I am usually just in bed.She stays with me in bed asked me if I had taken my medicine. she would bring it to me together with a glass of water. She would massage my head and frequently asked if I am okey. She would bring me food and when I fall asleep I would feel sleeping beside me. It makes me feel better even though I am irritable with the pain I just have to fight for it for I feel her concern with me.As a mother we don't like that our kids would feel uneasy when something is wrong with us. Thank you my baby for being there for me. I love you!
