One of my sisters arrived last night to help out with my daughter and the new baby for the 1st week. She made herself a pot of coffee at about 7:30 am. She didn't sleep well. I guess being in a new place. But the coffee pot is still on. Maybe there is a quarter of a pot left. Would you leave it on? Or turn it off and let her re heat it when she wakes up?

Hello ersmommy. It is so nice of your sister to come over to help you out with your daughter and to-be-born baby. Yeah, it is the same with my wife when she give birth to my baby son. Both my sister and her sisters come to help with the baby and cooking and laundry washing as well. I appreciate their coming to help us out when they are so badly needed. I think that it might be in a new place that your sister is not used to that she did not sleep well the night before. Speaking of the pot of coffee, I think that I would turn it off and have it reheated when she wakes up so that she can enjoy hot coffee to gain some energy. Good luck and all the best wishes to you, my dear friend.

That is great that your sister stayed with you for the first week. I stayed with my niece a week before the baby and a week afterwards. I would turn the coffee pot off but that is me if no one is going to drink it.It gets bitter after a while anyhow doesn't it? I am sure she might have wanted a nice hot fresh brewed one when she wakes again. So what did you decide to do?

it is good that she has come to help.try to show your gratefulness when you can by trying to keep the coffee warm.

I'd turn it off and let her reheat it because it will start to burn or get really strong and nasty if you leave it on. ours shuts off by its self after about 2 hours. its a nice feature ;) when i worked in a coffee shop you may or maynot have heard of, tim hortons, we had to throw out anypot of coffee that wasn't used up after 20 minutes.

Turn it off and toss it. By now it's bitter and not that great tasting anyway. Just let her brew a new pot when she wakes up. If you think, she'll still drink it. Let her heat it up in the microwave. My coffee maker has an automatic shut off after two hours. I never used it, but see it as a good feature as after two hours for me the coffee just tastes nasty.

If she has come to help you, let her figure it out :) It's nice of her to have a helping hand at such moments. I hope that both of you are well and in good health. © ronaldinu 2008

I would go ahead and turn it off. I am sure that reheated coffee does not taste any worse than coffee that has been sitting hot in a coffee pot all morning.

Hrm.. I'd say turn it off and brew a new pot. Just my humble opinion.

I would turn it off, and let her re heat it. I think when the coffee pot stays on the coffee eventually starts to evaporate. That is why sometimes you can smell the coffee burning because it was left on and the coffee starts to dry up. If I were you I would turn the pot off. It will be just as good re heated in the micro wave.
