Isobel Varley isn't shy of showing her tattoos, as these pictures of her at the Tattoo Convention show in Berlin demonstrate. She has spent the last 20 years having her body decorated and according to her website, she is in the Guinness Book of Records as the most 'World's most senior tattooed woman'. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1092407/Body-ink--record-holding-tattooed-British-pensioner-takes-Berlin-storm.html do you have a tattoo. Would you like to beat isobel Varley's record? Do you think that this is excessive? What is your limit?

I don't have any tattoo's nor does my husband I want one or two but they would be small and maybe not showing. My limit would be 2-3 maybe. I think some tattoo's are beautiful works of art but some can go to far when it can't be distinguishable between what is what then it is a bit much.

Wow! I checked out the website and looked at her pics. Amazing. I don't have any tatoos...too old to start now I guess! LOL. The success of "Miami Ink" and "LA Ink" have made tatooing more acceptable, I think. Those guys are real artists. I just think you probably need to pick and choose and make sure you find a good one.

I haven't got any tattoos and I am not in a rush to get one. I don't think I would want any more than two. I think the number the woman has is very excessive.

As far as i heard from my frenz whom had tattoos, they said, it's addictive.. Though it's painful, but they are just addicted to the pain in return for a ncie piece of art on their body.. I do believe them to certain extend, because i often see ple with more than one tattoo as they are never satisfied with just one.. ANd for the pain, they are the ones whom go thru it, and so only they will understand it.. As for me, i did think of having a tattoo b4, and i wont know how much is my limit till i get my first one.. haha

I've got a butterfly tattoo at my upper back (near my left shoulder). And I'm happy with it. I have no plans of beating Varley's record. I think it's excessive.

for some people tattoes are art, for others they are a disfigurement of the human body, I don't mine one or two little tatoes for those that want it but having all over your body to look like a lizard is ugly to me.

I have two. I have a small one and a larger one. For me, this is it. My husband though, has about 15. I love them. I see them as an artistic expression. I don't like to see so many though, as this lady since it makes it hard to distinguish between them. You can't really appreciate the individual tattoos.

Yes, it's excessive. I have a friend who has spent close to $2k on body art and she has many large tattoos all over her body. My husband has 8 or 9 in various locations. Two he got in Viet Nam, one is the Geico Gecko holding a heart with my name on top...breaking his rule of never putting a living person's name on your body. (Now, THAT'S dedication!) I don't have any yet, only because I have yet to find one that speaks to me. All of the art in my house "speaks" to me and for some reason I need my tattoo to do the same.

Wow that is just crazy for an old lady. But hey if you want to be interesting and noticed around the world go for the gusto right. I've got 5 tattoos and my biggest one is from my knee down to my ankle on my right leg which took like 14 sessions and still isn't all the way done. I'll probably get it finished in the future but who knows. I'm in no hurry. I do believe there is a point where you reach too many but hey some people just don't care.

Excessive for me? Yes. Excessive for her? No. I bet she has some beautiful and interesting stories behind those tattoos, if people knew of them maybe they wouldnt be so quick to judge.

I don't really have a tattoo limit as long as each one isn't some meaningless design or saying that's kind of stupid. I would like to get a lot of tattoo's in my life and would like to design most of them if not all of them. I'm really interested in decorated oneself with one's style because it's expression to the max. I don't think anything is excessive as long as she is comfortable with what she is doing to herself.

I don't have tattoo in any part of my body, but i like watching it with some of the women having it. If ever i put tattoos i like it in my left shoulder i guessed that's my only limit.

I am thinking about getting a tatoo on the back of my shoulder but would never go to that extent, I think it is horrible although obviously her choice as it is her body. In the paper on saturday there was a picture of a man and his face was covered in tatoos, that also looked horrible. Some tatoos are nice but some people go to far and I don't like it. At the end of the day though we are all different which makes us all unique!!!

I love tattos but would never have my whole body tattooed, I have three at the moment and feel that is enough, but do know people who have more even their backs full of them, I could never go that far...littleowl

Right now I have two. the shamrock on my inner right ankle I got while I was in college freshman year to mark my adventures of college...and my Irish heritage. And then in 2005 I got a celtic knot (the trinity knot) placed on my mid to lower back, centered. Keeping up with my Irish theme. I got that one while on vacation in Gaitlinburg TN I plan on getting one more. It is my name in (i cannot remember exactly which so bear with me) either Hebrew or sanscript. It is 3 little symbols. My uncle made me a glass jewelry box as a child with my nickname tae frosted on it in english and then these symbols. And I have been waiting for a very momentous moment for this final tattoo to be placed on my right shoulder blade. I plot and plan these things so I will always have a distinct memory along the way. And I feel it is almost time for the final one. But no I would never want to become a waking billboard. They would lose their meanings to me. Plus, the more tats the harder to hide if needed to be hidden. Personally I have nothing against people with multiple tatts, but when I see women with them all over their bodies...just makes me think How tacky. I know sterotypes. But on men if they are appropriate they are just down right nice to look at.

Hi there ronaldinu. I have read about that woman and i don't think her children or grand children for that matter would look proudly on her - i mean come on... what that suppose to be ? I would not do this to my body, but i guess every one is allowed to do what he or she pleases with his / her body even if some of us may not approve with it.

Hi ronaldinu How could someone beat her? How can they judge who is the most tattooed person. I actually went to a tattoo convension in Switzerland and found it really amazing. The noise was incredible, a constant buzz of the tattoo artists at work. I don't have any tattoo's myself but it is easy to be tempted when you are these sort of convensions. I do think that she has too many and I don't think it looks attractive at all. I would maybe have one or two but that would be enough I think for most people!
