What age for allowing an id...for your children...???

Hey friends...my daughter is just ten...and she has signed up at many children sites like stardoll, spineworld,tinkleonline...etc etc...and also started chatting with other children at those sites...now while chatting they ask each other for thier id's...and she has started asking me to make an id for her....i, for the time being, said that i will do it after the exams are over, but is it the right time to allow her this...????

Hi eshaan, I believe the kid must reach a certain age when he is mature enough to differential between good and bad we then would allow them to use internet independently. In our country parents are encourage to accompany their young kids to supervise them while surfing net as there are so many frauds lurking with malicious motive. We couldn’t assure whether the so said children in the other side are really children. They might be the undesirable adults who are trying to set up a trap for the innocent preys. So it’s wise not to give this freedom to the kid when he is too young.

hey ikbooi...u r right friend....i was not finding the words to explain her....so nicely explained.....i called her and made her read your response...but u know..psycology of this age children...she argued mummy...i understand who is talking right and who is wrong...and also i can understand the person is of my age or not...

Thanks for your sweet compliment eshaan. Since this is a 5 months old discussion, I believe as time flies, your adorable girl is very much better in handling the online id as well as the pleasant chat with her friends at the moment. Yeah, especially it’s under your well guidance.
She is so lucky that having such a good and caring mom. I know you surely would lead on her patiently gradually with excellent methods. I believe she has acquired lots of information as well from the interaction with online friends via the said sites.

The choice is on you but to me I feel 10 years old is still a little young to be honest. I know the internet is full of cool stuff for kids but I also think it depends on if you trust her or not. For me I think I will wait until my girls are about 12 or 13 years old before I allow all that Im stuff. But by than they might have something totally different. Take care and like I said the choice is really yours. Happy mylotting as well.
