When I was a young girl and attending church a woman was not seen in church with pants on. Today I see women wearing them to church all the time. I have to admit since I have seen this I have worn a pants suit to church. I will mostly wear mines to night services why I can't explain it. I just do. How do you feel about ladies wearing pants to church? If you are a lady responding to this discussion have you worn pants to church?

I believe that dress slacks are fine at any of the services.. I have worn jeans at the evening services but if I wear any at all to the morning services, they do have to be dress slacks.. I don't think that it is wrong at all, as long as you are going to church that is the main thing..

I do not even know why woman were made to wear skirts in the first place, unless it was easy access for the bathroom, or for men!! LOL It is more covered up than anything so I cannot see it as a problem. I always thought that the covered head rule was dumb, too. Why would there be a need for a different set of rules for men and women, unless it was men who made up the rules. It sure was not a edict by God!! LOL

i was brought up wearing a skirt in going to church. as years passed by, i change little by little, by wearing pants to church, until such time i even wear plain black jeans to church. which made me feel very comfortable. in my opinion, what i need to wear to church is something that is clean, and covers my beautiful legs. clothes should not be attractive, it should be plain and simple. i don't wear short sleeves, or mini skirts, or short pants.

Hi Chevee. I have no problem with woman wearing pants to church. Some women don't own any dresses or skirts. Myself, I don't wear them to church but I don't have any nice pants to wear either - only jeans. Our church has a rescue ministry and there are a lot of homeless people who come who just don't have dressy clothes. We never turn away people who aren't dressed up. I wore my jeans last Sunday night because our church was having a special Christmas program and they told everyone one come casual. I saw a lot of women with jeans or pants on.

I was raised very strictly that a woman/girl did not wear pants to church under any circumstance. It is hard to let go of that belief. I think it is find for others, but I cannot bring myself to wear pants to church. It just doesn't feel right for me. I did try once, but found it to be very uncomfortable. I guess it was just so engrained in my upbringing that I can't do it.

I don't feel there is anything wrong with wearing pants to church. I sometimes wear dress pants. As long as you are dressed respectfully. The important thing is that you are going to church and going for the right reasons...to worship God, have fellowship with other believers, learn, serve, give thanks, etc. God bless!

Hey Zuke, It really doesn't matter that much what you wear. God looks upon the heart of a person. I do think it is important to dress respectfully or to wear the best that you have. We don't go to church to "show off" our new clothes, but to worship God. At my church, lots of ladies wear dress pants, esp in the winter and a lot of guys will wear cacky(sp) pants or nice jeans and a nice shirt. I don't think it is good for a lady to wear "daisy duke" shorts to church..lol! Or really short, short skirts and very low-necked tops...you know. You ready for Christmas yet? I'm taking Friday off to shop! I still have so much to do!

Yes I have worn pants to church and felt good about myself. Jesus didn't have a fancy wardrope that I'm aware of and being in his house means more than a dress vs pants I would think. I have also seen people wear shorts and short skirts that left nothing to the imagination. That I feel is just disrespectful. As long as you're clean and your butt isn't showing I'd say you're good to go. In these cold winter days pants are a good thing.

Women used to wear a hat to church. Men wore a fedora and took it off at the door. I haven't been to church for over 40 years, but Why would anyone care what women wore to church? Muslim ladies wear a hi jab or Shayla over their head whenever they go out. This is a custom they have grown used to.

I remember several years ago that a lot of women at my church wore hats on Easter Sunday. Not that much now though.

Old habits die hard. Since you have been brought up in an era whern ladies did nto wear pants to church, you find it difficult to accept it.Even though you have accepted it, oyou still try to make it as inconspicuous as possible. Those who have been going to church with pants on right from childhood, for them it is the most natural thing to do. i remember teh first time i wore jens i was so conscious that I felt everyoen was staring at me. it happens.

It depends on the church. When I was in college I sometimes wore pants to church. I even wore jeans to one of those "holiness" churches one time...you know, the kind where women never cut their hair or wear pants, and the men always wear long sleeves. I went there for a lecture on the Endtimes stuff, and didn't know what kind of church it was. I also had chin-length hair that was dyed jet-black. Once I realized what kind of place it was, I was afraid the people would be rude to me. But, they weren't. They were kind and welcoming. I had always thought those people were strict and legalistic, looking down on others who were different. But they weren't like that at all.

I dont think it should matter what you wear to church, as long as it is in good taste. I would hate to think a person would choose not to attend church because they didnt have the proper clothing to wear. I tend to wear pants more in the winter. I like to be comfortable also and I just am not in dresses all the time.

when i was young, in the south, i used to dress up for sunday school, and always wore dresses because my mother made me, and i was like whatever. but during evening sermons during the weekday and bible school, we could wear casual, whether jeans and t-shirt, and if it is during the day, shorts and tank top. but i grew up in the 70s.

Ladies wearing pants/ trousers to church - no problem! As far as I'm concerned, as long as the clothes are reasonably smart, that is what matters, not what the form is. I guess that if people are going to church to worship their 'oneness', they would probably want to respect that oneness and so wouldn't dress in a dishevelled, disrespectful fashion, nor in a way to draw unwarranted attention. Can depend on the "context" of what the church is like. If it is stuffy and old-fashioned, then maybe they need stirring up a bit! - power to the sisters!

Yup, I have - I'm more comfortable with pants or jeans anyway. I don't understand all the fuss about pants in church; I feel that as long as we are properly and decorously dressed (no outrageous or sexy stuff), it should be okay. I believe that God is more interested in our hearts rather than whether females should wear pants or not in church.

I have never worn pants to church. At the small church that I attend, the members just don't wear pants to church. I was raised up in the church and I would feel funny wearing them.

Ladies wearing pants in attending the church are not conscious of their looks. It's alright for me to see ladies in the church with their pants on.

Though I have not gone to church ever wearing a pant but I have seen many people to do that. I personally feel that it depend on church rules & also individual's mentality. The most important thing is that whether she is dedicated to god or not. Dressing has nothing to do with it. But ofcourse one has to maintain a decent dress sense & discipline in their life &it should be appropiate placewise.
