dinky toys

How old where you when you got your first dinky toy.
I was about four and I still have it on my desk to look at although I don't play with it any more.
My sister had some Barbie Dolls and I always wanted a Ken doll but mom and dad wouldn't buy it for me.
I like race cars now and have one that is on the computer and you can actually race with people all over the world.
I like my dinky toy.

They are those miniature die cast toys that every boy seems to have a box full of. I do not know what they call them in the States, maybe Matchbox I am not sure. Some of the older toys are collectible if they survive the usual destructive habits of children. They used to be made of metal.
Dinky toys began in the 1930's Britain and were sold for decades until late last century when it fell on hard times. I think there is still a Dinky Toys in China but I am not up on its recent history.
