When do you start decorating for Christmas?

I normally start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. My decorations are modest; just a decorated tree and wreaths on the door. I am not much in the mood for decorating this year so I haven't done it yet. I hope to do it this weekend because regardless of my feelings, I still have a 9 year old who finds it all magical and enchanting.

No set date for me, just not before Thanksgiving like some people do. I feel like we should get one holiday out of the way before starting on the next.
That said, I have not started decorating yet. All we have done is unpack and start using the Christmas dinnerware. I would probably be a scrooge and not decorate this year since we will not be here for Christmas, but my 14 yr old has other plans. So when ever she can talk her Dad into getting the decorations down from the attic we will decorate.

Gotta be really honest here, it is when the "spirit" moves me! There has never been a set date in my itinerary....it's when a carol, a display, a memory...something will instigate the excitement, and I'm off and running! It started this year, 4 days ago...when I went to the Power Lines (they like you to cut there) and cut 12 little trees for the Senior Citizens home! Just seeing the delight & thrill on these senior ladies/gentleman's faces ...and the relief (as they all worried how they would get one) was the impetous for my Christmas spirit!
