We paid for the Movie channel, we do not need to see the logo

Yesterday I was watching the Encore Movie channel because one of my favorite old movies was now in high definition. Now our cable company is trying to get people to upgrade to the pvr version of the high definition movie box, and we already pay the extra of the movie channels which is above the cost of the regular high definition channels. So about ten minutes or so, they had the encore movie logo come on the tv. twice. Now I do not mind it on TCM which is free, but why should they put the logo on the movies on a station we paid extra for?

So do I. I mean unless one is a complete idiot - say maybe that is why there is so much junk on Tv, the tv people think we are complete idiots.

It is amazing we get out of the house according to them, or worse, get off of the chair and forgot we were sitting in it.

I don't know, but I totally understand what you mean. The normal channels - NBC, CBS, ABC - they all have their logos on during the shows all the time. And they're FREE! It's really irritating sometimes to see it down there, it's quite the distraction.

Maybe they think we all have Alzheimer and we forgot what channel we are watching. Next time they will put on the S.A.p and have someone describing the scene aloud on the assumption that we are also deaf and blind.

That is most annoying, and you can understand it on free to air broadcasts, butwhen you pay for it I agree with you and believe there should be no logos during the movie.

I do not even like it on the free channels. After all, I have a short term as well as a long term memory. Ooo I hate the idea that the Tv channels think that my recall is limited to five minutes or so.

It's just marketing. Try not to let it bother you. I wouldn't switch just to get rid of a logo. I also think stations do this so people don't record the movies for personal use or selling.

I figured it was to prevent people from recording the movie, but why do they have those pvr recorders? I mean it is annoying.
