Serial Killer "Son of Sam" David Berkowitz has found Jesus in 1987 while spending his life prison sentence in lock up.
*
Berkowitz was a devotee of Satan who believed a dog named 'Sam' was commanding him to kill strangers.
*
I hope the tortured man finds peace, but I will never believe that a man like this should ever see freedom again.

I would agree. Even if God has delivered him from his Satanic bondage, he still owes society. I would not expect him to be set free because he claims a conversion. His conversion could well be genuine, but God would expect him to satisfy the law of the land.

My main concern is what is going within his skull. Has he simply switched imaginary companions (from a dog named Sam to Jesus)? If he has, he is still extraordinarily dangerous.

I saw him many years ago on CNN doing an interview. The change in him is remarkable. Sometimes you can just tell when someone in prison is "finding God" for convience purposes. No way in the world would I ever let him out of jail. And if my family had been killed by him I don't know if I could get over the "change." But I truly think he accepted Christ. His actions and his words seem to back it up.

Nonetheless, for the man who lives in his shell, this can be considered a good thing as it makes his life and confinement easier to bear.
