Was today "Let's see how rude we can be" Day?

I tell ya, sometimes I just don't get it. Normally I go weeks and even months without having someone be rude around me or to me. Well, today I think made up for it. Today, while I was in line at a concert to get some water, this girl comes up and gets in line beside me - there are quite a few people behind me. As she's talking to her friend, she keeps trying to get in front of me. I keep elbowing her aside, making sure she knows I'm not giving up on the line. Well, we get to the front and order our water and she says (from behind me) "I was in line here!" I told her that the line doesn't start from the point that she butts into it. As she walked to get into the real line she was nice enough to wish me a Merry Christmas. I just don't get some people. They think they can declare their way is the right way an if they're loud enough everyone will cowtow to them.

It seems like she was pretty rude, I can't believe she said after all that Merry Christmas, well that was nice of her to do that. but she didn't have to be so rude trying to sponge. Happy Holdays renydawn!

Well, I'm pretty sure she knew she was wrong because otherwise she wouldn't have gotten into the back of the line.

This happens to me all time, but you know I let it go because I know I could go two places if I say something. I could keep moving forward to cash my items or I'll be moving towards the exit in handcuffs. That's how rude some people are. They know they're wrong but still want to be right about it.

I tried not to be as rude as she was, and I hope I was successful. But I wasn't about to let her just butt in, there were still people behind me and I'm sure they were cheering me on too.

Maybe it was the full moon- ha! I think alot of people are just very tense right now, with not knwoing what tomorrow brings and the money struggles so many are dealing with and that tends to give them a short fuse.

I was at this concert a couple of months ago and this guy had the nerve to sit on me. He did not even excuse himself when it happened. My friend and I had left spots empty for some folks who went to get a drink. This guy thought he could just take up room by sitting down. My friend said "No, there were people already here and they will be back." He didn't care. When he sat on me, I yelled at him and he was like I didn't do anything wrong. I said,"You just sat on me." No apology or anything. I got up and moved after telling him that he was a (insert word here). He ended up leaving after that. I mean come on people. Show some common courtesy. This guy had been intoxicated and I was really ashamed that there are people like this out and about in society.

Oh, that's horrible! I was wondering if he'd been drinking. I'm sure he would have acted like that anyway... What a moron!

Yes lets all be rude because it is that time of season. I tell you some people need to go back home and learn manners. I am glad you put her in check and made her stand in line where she belongs.

I am so glad that I haven't been around those people this week. It's tough being surrounded by that all the time!

Some people these days are just so rude. I've had that before, and I just let them know that I am not giving up my spot, and that they are being rude for trying to butt in the line. It's sad that people have to be so mean around the holidays, and can't just be kind and enjoy themselves. I think you handled it the right way, and hope that your holidays are wonderful.

It is awful how the season and in the excitement of a concert they attend that people forget common decency. Or they just they think they can make an end run around you. It kind of sours you on things. I am glad you stood your ground.

I kinda felt bad for not being "nice" and just letting her go, but she was so rude and assuming to start with I wasn't going to give in. It did sour my mood for about 10 seconds, but I wasn't going to let it ruin my good time!
