Since losing my job, I'm walking more

Just can't afford the car for short trips and the bus fares are extortionate. We live a mile and a half from the city centre and I'm walking it all the time. When you take into account the cost of petrol and parking it just isn't worth thinking about taking the car. I'm also on dog-walking duty twice a day, too. So I suppose you might say a positive thing has come from a bad situation. Have you had any unexpected health benefits from similar situations?

When I was younger, I had really bad asthma, but I got a job delivering newspapers where the only way I could get to the homes was by walking with a really heavy, full pack of papers. I must have walked for miles whenever I had to deliver them. I ended up losing a bit of weight and my asthma got better.
