Christmas and The Other Holidays are coming soon, and I really don’t know what I want. Do you? I guess i could have my kids all pitch in and get me something of a family portrait, but don't know if they'd do that..but it would be nice. Are you doing anything this year with family?

After the past couple of years, I will have exactly what I want for Christmas. My kids will celebrate Christmas this year, happy and healthy, and pretty much on the right track for making a happy, successful life for themselves. I don't need much, and I want for nothing, at the moment, so this is the perfect gift, as far as I am concerned. My family will be here for Christmas, along with my daughter's boyfriend, and his little girl, who I absolutely adore, and maybe our next door neighbors, if they are not able to spend the day with their family.

Looking at how things are going right now for my husband and I and our finances are getting really low, I don't think I want anything at all. Just to be with my husband and family is the most important thing I would like to have this year. I know without them my Christmas would not be complete.

We were invited to New York to visit with my Aunt and Uncle but I have to work through the holidays so it's going to be just a quiet one with my hubby and son. We are only buying for our son this year :)

Well actually we have always done it this way for Christmas. We usually buy stuff for ourselves throughout the year and focus on our parents and our son for Xmas.

I was going to go to Ontario to be with my parents, brothers, sister, and sons, but other things got in the way, so that trip is off until some time in the New Year. All my old folks here in town are either going to or having family gatherings, the hubs is going to be down 'south' working from Dec.22nd to Jan.12th, so it'll just be me, myself and I on Xmas and New Years. I have a frozen turkey dinner (Swanson's) in the freezer for the big day, and a BIG bottle of Port, and some great left over smokey birthday present (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) some really good books and my dog. I'm a contented old lady these days and VERY low maintenance! LOL

Ah kitty kat..........deployed next month eh? My heart bleeds for you, truly. He will be in my prayers. In the meantime, I'll be thinking of you when that lovely smoke starts curling up to the stars on Xmas Eve and wishing you the best. Get that family pic. Take it yourself if you need to on your digital and print it out and frame it. Family is too precious to waste an opportunity like that when they are all together........Hugs sweets.

Earlier this year I had posted my Christmas Wish List on the fridge for my husband to make note of... it was pretty simple - wooden spoons and a breadmaker. However, we have since experienced unemployment first-hand so things have changed.... The plan now is to spend Christmas Day together as a family instead of opening a bunch of presents. Our 7-year-old is super excited about the "new plan" - to my amazement, no doubt! lol I'm finding myself feeling less guilty now too and can't wait for Christmas to get here. - Our new plan has certainly taken the stress out the holiday and given us something to really look forward to!

Hi Rose, Barry and I had photos taken to give our families this year. It's been a long time since we had any done. I was even pleased with the photos for a change, lol. As for what I want, well, we need a new computer for the house. It won't go online at all. It's only about 10 years old, I don't know why it's being so ugly? It's been acting up in other ways for a while now. So, it's time. Hope you get that family portrait sweetie. Hugs

I can't think of anything I really want either. I know some things I could use, and some things I may like, but nothing that I really really want. Nothing that will make me say "Wow, this is exactly what I wanted". I hope hubby has better ideas than I do, lol.

i love christmas. or at least i used to.when i was little, in the 60's, i used to want all the toys our car could hold.of course, we were poor so that was never an option. but, my mom taught me that you can have a great christmas with just the things you already have.like family,we had a big family. all the aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents.my granny's house was full of people on christmas.the tree would reach the ceiling and the presents filled the room.the smells coming from the kitchen were created in heaven. my grandad would sit in his huge easy chair and read the night before christmas and have a prayer. then we would all get our presents and we would take turns opening them. it was a time when we were rarely together and i cherished every moment.most of my family have gone onto their rewards now, and the ones that are left i don't know anymore.we all live in different places around the globe.so what i wish for christmas is for everyone to cherish the moments they have with family, because it disappears so fast and it can never be retrieved.make sure this christmas you love and live each moment with your family to the fullest. GOD BLESS EVERYONE AND MAY YOU ALL STAY SAFE AND HAPPY
