I am fond of recycling. I can recycle food and give it a new taste, I recycle clothes to give it a new look, and make use of things for some other purpose. Through recycling, I can save some money. How about you, do you recycle?

I do hope I can give new taste to food in my fridge, and give a new look to my old clothes... :( But I do recycle my trash. Every month here in our area, they collect plastic bottles, papers/newspapers, and even old clothes. So every month (in the simplest way I can) I try to keep all our bottles & newspapers until collection day. :)

At least you help save the environment by recycling your trash. That's a big thing to keep our earth clean.

Even if recycling is not popular in your place, at least you make an effort to recycle. That's nice!

I like recycling, it feels like I am doing my little bit for the environment. We have a recycling collection service where you put out all your glass bottles and tins etc and it is collected and taken away to be recycled. I also like to recycle clothes. I am not very good myself with a needle, but I don't object to second hand clothes which I often get from my friends. Every so often we clear out our cupboards and find things which we are not going to wear any more and then exchange with our friends. My mother is a similar size to me so she often gets some of my clothes, or shoes! Anything which no one wants to claim is taken to the charity shop for re-sale, so everybody benefits. More people should recycle. We live in such a throw away society and it is no wonder that we have such problems. :)

I like to recycle too. I recycle paper, cardboard, cans, bottles. I usually send them to the recycle bins. I know many people are too lazy to make that effort. nowadays, we have a bin only 1-2 blocks away and still people don't recycle. I also join freecycle to give away things I don't need and to get things I need that people don't. It's a great way to save money too. I love freecycle. I hope to cultivate the habit with my daughter when she grows up. For now, she comes along whenever I visit the recycle bin. So she sees what I'm doing. Soon, she will follow suit, I hope.

I admire you for teaching your child the value of saving while she's still young. I'm sure, she will keep that value until she grows old. Thanks for the input. I would be doing that to my child too.

I like recycling. I get annoyed when people don't recycle. I can recycl just about everything. I hate wasting food. If we have lots of leftover and if no wants to eat it again thn I change the taste as well. And only after a week or so I will put the food into my compost ben. And so far I have not thrown away any of my clothes. I dont usually like giving away my clothes and I only give away if they dont fit anymore otherwise I plan to keep all my clothes till they are worn out and thn maybe i'll give it a new look and if I cant do ot thn I will make them rags. I also recycle all my papers and plastic. Infact you can recycle just about everything.

I recycle. One of my favorite web groups is freecycle. I recycle pop cans and get money. I like to figure out different uses for things so I don't have to throw all my stuff away. I think it's such a waste.

Yeah, throwing something which can still be used is a waste. . . I would check that freecycle, seems interesting. I have some posts about my recycling activities in my blog at http://practical-mom.blogspot.com. I will be updating it as soon as I have time.

I too am fond of recycling, I recycle cans, bottles, and plastics. I reuse plastic containers that are not recyclable for putting things in. I reuse cardboard boxes for storing things in. I also recycle used motor oil whenever I have the oil changed in my car.

Hi dorisday, I like things to be recycled and to be used again at home. I believe besides saving money, we still could do my little part of work to be friendly to our environment. Yeah, after family gathering or festive celebration I like to keep the leftover in the fridge. The following day I would then dump all these leftover into a big clay pot and cook them for more than half an hour, with dry spicy chilies, black pepper, plentiful of green masturd leaves veggies and the sour plums added to it. This dish is really yummy to eat together with white rice. I would share them by giving them to my siblings and my friends who love this dish. I use the rotten fruits, veggies, fallen leaves and etc to do my own composed fertilizer. I flush the toilet bowl and drains and etc using the water collected from the laundry machine. Happy posting and take care.

I too feel like i am doing something for the world, like I am helping to make less refuse and thus fill landfills and such much more slowly. The disposableness of our world infuriates me. There are so many ways that we can help the planet and yet we don't.

I was recycling before it was called recycling and the "in" thing to do! In my day it was just called "using what you have" and not being wasteful. Why trash it if you can use it?
• Philippines

Yeah, you're right. If things could still be used, better re-use it before making it as a trash.

I do try and recycle. I don't do as much as I should, but we do recycle the plastics, cans, and such. One way I reuse plastic is rather than go to the store and buy more laundry soap, I'll make my own, and use the previous bottles for my soap.

Wow, do you make your own soap? That's great! maybe you can share your idea of how to do it.

Actually, there are many receipes online to make your own soap. However, I used the receipe from the Duggar Family website. www.duggarfamily.com . It's in the receipe section. They even have a something about making your own fabric softener, but I'm going to try a different one.

I like what you do. it's nice to "invent" things out of nothing just like what you do. That's great.
