I Should Be Embarrassed But Here I Am Laughing Hysterically

This will prove once and for all the wacky sense of humor I have. I just have to write this out now though and will be back here hopefully by Wednesday. I did a email to many of my friends here to tell them how much I'm MIA in just about all my "haunts" including here...I've been working like a maniac on my grant application that is due soon, soon, soon and am hoping to get it all done by Wednesday. Anyway, let me share this email with you...I've had to edit it as some words won't go through to all: I've been missing in action just about everywhere....hardly been to mylot save to answer one of my friend's discussions today....I'm working like a maniac on my grant application (Aaron Siskind) and a presentation of photos....only allowed to send in eight...crap...how does one choose only eight images from over 21,000 color images and 15,000 black and white photos???? ...NUTS....I did select my eight but was working all night resizing, cropping, zapping up, changing resolution..ah, fun stuff..LOL. Then rattled out a basic career summary and work statement...I should have everything finalized hopefully by Wednesday....at least the good news is that the application work is all on-line so no worries about mailing anything. Anyway, I get freaked out whenever I work on these dang grants...and can only focus (no pun intended) on working on that and nothing else....hope to be back to MyLot, Shared Reviews, blogging, and Ciao ...and am pi$$ed off and so a lot of others....most of us think we've been stiffed from getting our payment at Ciao as we should have been paid already...that was to be my Christmas money..crap, crap, crap!!!!!!! So just letting you know I shall return...uh, eventually....LOL Okay now many of you might not think anything of it...BUT..oh it gets better, I promise. So I sent this massive email to a lot of my friends, but it wasn't until it was already sent that I noticed an additional email address listed and I'm like huh? How did that get there? So did a bit of tracking to figure out who this email address was. Now on and off I write to a lot of people and organizations to find out if they are interested in my photo work, and no doubt this email address was one of those contacts I made. So did a further tracking down of which organization it was. It turns out it's one of those very religious Christian organizations that published magazines.... Well folks when I realized my error, instead of feeling embarrassed, which most people might feel, I just couldn't stop laughing....I'm still laughing. I mean the editor of the magazines that they publish is sure going to wonder who is this wacko sending such a weird email? Okay....have any of you accidentally sent a rather odd email that yes, your friends would understand, but for some "serious" contact wouldn't? Were you embarrassed or were you like me, falling off the chair with laughter?

The worst I've ever done like this was when I was "courting" two submissives at the same time, trying to make up my mind which one I was going to follow through with. I finally made up my mind and whipped up as nice an email as I could to the other one to tell her that I wouldn't be pursuing the connection - and sent it to the one I had chosen. I realised almost immediately, and phoned her to apologise, only to find her laughing herself sick. She'd worked out the mistake as soon as she read it, and thought it was hilarious. We spent the next two years together, so it did no long term harm. Lash

It was really great that she had such a great sense of humor and could laugh about it. Glad things worked out for you and were together for two years

That's so funny! I don't usually recheck the email addresses that I've sent stuff to, and that's probably a good thing. Did you ever get a response from the religious organization that shouldn't have gotten it? Somebody on the other end may have sat there reading it, wondering where they knew you from...and that's funny too. Who knows? Maybe getting your name in front of them in a way that's different than what they expect will have a benefit.

LOL--so your Dad acted as "animal" rescuer? One time years and years ago when my mother and I when in Florida (Disneyworld...staying at the Polynesian Village)..I did my own "rescue" We were on the beach when all of a sudden there was a virtual army of baby chameleon lizards scurrying right by me, but heading straight for the water...I thought oh, no...they'll drown! So I carefully scooped each one up one at a time and took them to safety...heehee

Never fear...the kitty will be back shortly! The turtle, Carmin, is a celebration picture. My dad brought her home after a bird dropped her on the road to break her shell. She was the size of a nickle. My son was 8 at the time, and he wanted to keep it. Carmin is now 14 years old, and moved to Oklahoma with my son. I haven't seen either of them for 3 years, and my son woulda killed me if I'd put his picture here...lol.

I actually had one occasion, being that I usually type out email on notepad. I did end up with two emails going to two wrong places. I was helping someone arrange songs for an upcoming CD, & at the same time, I was involved in a multi-player game. I ended up sending the other game players the list of songs I had suggested to him, & why I thought it went together nicely, & I ended up sending that artist game data I was sharing. I ended up having to send out a second email to each of them, telling them to disregard the previous email. The thing was, in the game email, I also found that a previous female nemesis of ours was in the game using a new name. I had written, "Watch out. It's her. I recognize her perfume. Cough cough cough." It turned out the artist did read the email, & loved that line.

Well I would be both embarrassed and laugh hysterically once the embarrassment went which would be quite quick. Honestly I cannot remember if I have ever done this or not. I have sent emails to people and wondered if I should have sent them afterwards but I did mean to send them and I meant to say the things I said in the heat of the moment. I was just not so sure I should have said them once I had calmed down. Email is such fun as you can send a letter in haste and wonder for ages afterward.

I sometimes have to "calm" myself down...not so much with writing emails in the "heat of the moment" but responses here at MyLot...sometimes I come across someone making a real nasty, obnoxious remark..the kind that makes you want to throw the computer out the window?? So have to physically get up walk around a bit, to cool down then reply back in a "diplomatic" fashion...

Ah yes I know about those and I have to go away for a while to calm down. I can also get caught watching a news item and have to resist making a discussion about it until after I can think more rationally. Sometimes by the time I have calmed down my partner has had a go at them in a very clever comment and that does help me.

HAHHAHAHHAHAH! OH MY GOODNESS MAN! Speaking of this, I DO NOT check the email addresses whenever I send any e-mails! I might even have sent it to the wrong person or organization accidentally and NOT realize it!! O_o

I've done that a few times myself. When I figured out what I did, I didn't know whether to fall out of the chair laughing or be totally mortified, especially since half the time the person that I accidentally emailed would email me back asking why I contacted them. I think the laughter usually won out with me too. Hahaha!

Hahaahaha - I would have laughed, too! I've never dared do group emails - and it's just as well, by the sounds of it! I've had a couple of email mishaps, though - one was when my Mum sent me an email she'd had from my brother with a very rude picture on it. She'd commented on how rude he was, and I made some comment back - then sent it back to my BROTHER instead of my mother! Luckily he didn't seem to care (maybe he didn't realise what had happened and thought we were talking TO him rather than ABOUT him!) On the other occasion I sent an email to one of my daughters telling her off - and she didn't speak to me for nearly three years! Just shows - emails are a dangerous thing and should probably be used with great caution!

I take it your daughter is speaking to you now I hope. Yes, some emails can prove "deadly"--LOL. I've been very candid and honest in some of my emails and yes, told someone off too one time...oh, well.

I think this is why I have never been tempted to set up a group to send emails to enmass. I do send emails to multiple contacts but I choose which contacts separately each time.

I did this not to long ago. I was posting to my friends who are wiccan and pagan then I went off those sites and onto others. I wewent of posting and realizd what I was sending to my very christian friends. Some of them never posted to me again. I usually change the graphic to something generic or one of the LOL Cats which I Love. That was the blunder of my ways, but oh well!!!! What ever happened? Ane comments from your trip?

No nothing like that but I have occasionally forgotten to remove somebody from the cc list with moderately dire consequences!
