Heartiest congratulations Kwengy. These coming 8 months, whether you are here on mylot or not, you will always be in my mind. I am suddenly reminded of your wedding in April last and now this…how time does fly and very soon you will actually be holding your own baby. Congrats, once again, to both of you.

I'm so happy for you and your husband, Kwenge - congratulations! What a wonderful birthday and Christmas present. Hahahaa - morning sickness from the seventh week? I wish! I had it right from the very, VERY beginning - and it wasn't just mornings, either! I hope you are luckier than me, and don't have any sickness at all - but even if you do, it's all worth it in the end. Good luck - and enjoy your pregnancy because it's an exciting, special time!

Congratulations! I can understand how grateful it is when you know you get pregnant. I'm pregnant now too, it's already 30 weeks, and this is my first baby. I had morning sickness even before the doctor can confirm that I am pregnant which is less than 6 week old. Regarding to morning sickness, it really depends on individuals, I have heard some women are just fine throughout the whole pregnancy period. I did buy lots of books for pregnancy, as this is my first baby, I just want to make sure my baby and I are fine. Before 3 months, it's good not to walk too much or be too tired. I used to walk a lot and I was bleeding (a bit). The gynae said it depends on individual too, some pregnant women walk a lot but they are fine. So, it's just good to take care of yourself. Rest more, be cheerful all the time, and ready to welcome your baby! ^_^

Well well well, this is good news indeed! Congratulations my friend! Now that you know you are pregnant, there are some precautions you have to take already. Things like no cold drinks. No renovtion works in the home. No no to certain foods. And some other precautions. I am sure your mum or mum-in-law will know better. The first trimester is the most delicate. Do take good care of yourself. Once the first trimester is passed, your pregnancy will be confirmed. I am sure it is very exciting for you and your spouse. Congratulations again!

Congratulations to you and your husband! That is great news... and what timing! I think that is probably the best birthday present you'll ever get. Pregnancy is different from person to person and with pregnancy to pregnancy in the same person! I had morning sickness with my first pregnancy that lasted until about the 7th month! It wasn't too bad, though, because my doctor gave me something to help with the nausea. My second pregnancy was different. I KNEW I was pregnant before I was tested because I had some really bad dizzy spells and would have periods of complete exhaustion for no obvious reason. It was funny, the people I worked with actually knew I was pregnant before I did! LOL They had bets going! But, with the second pregnancy, there was no "morning sickness". None at all. I craved steamed crabs and pickles with my first pregnancy and adored the smell of freshly-cut wood with my second. You just never know! The weirdest things can pop up out of nowhere! When you first feel that little "wiggle" in your tummy, be prepared for overwhelming emotions! When I first felt my first-born, it felt like there was a little butterfly in my tummy, fluttering away in there. I was ecstatic!!! With my second, it was an intense need to pee. That little guy took the position of feet planted firmly on my bladder and his head butted up against my gall bladder. Oh, what fun THAT was! LOL My first-born almost knocked me out of bed once. He always seemed to be more active at night or whenever I needed to rest. I was lying in bed getting ready for sleep when he kicked me in my side... HARD! I literally almost fell out of bed! They're pretty strong for being so tiny! Oh, you're in for a wonderful ride. It's not all pleasant... you'll feel like a blimp towards the end and be tired all the time, wondering when it will be over. When I was in my 8th month with my second baby, I asked my mother how long that last month lasted. She said "A lifetime." I answered, "It's already BEEN a lifetime!" (I didn't go through the last month with my first-born... he was premature.) But, in the end, you're rewarded for everything you go through. I wish you the very best along with a healthy, happy newborn! Again, congratulations!!!

Hi mentalward, how could I not see this response. My kids brother was using my machine. I thought I had replied to this wonderful response. Was going through the whole discussion the I learnt that I dint respond to it. I am soo sorry dear, I t was an oversight. Let me ask you, at what age of the pregnancy does someone start cravings? I think my prego is abit different. Heading to 10 weeks and am not feeling anything! not even the reknown cravings. Thanks a million time for your response my friend. Happy new year.

You may not have any cravings at all. Not all women have them. I'd have to say, though, that I was pretty far along, maybe halfway through the pregnancy, when the pickle craving hit me. I was maybe two-thirds gone when I HAD to have steamed crabs! LOL With my second, it may have been around 4 or 5 months before I craved the smell of cut wood. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was at least halfway through both pregnancies when the cravings hit. Your pregnancy may be different, as you said. You may never have any cravings. I think that feeling nothing at 10 weeks is GREAT! You're very lucky. If you have more babies after this one, each pregnancy will most likely be different. I have no idea what causes that, but it happens. I'm sure you won't be saying you feel nothing at all in a few months' time, though. You may not have cravings, but you're going to feel more tired with each month. Carrying that extra weight takes a toll on our bodies! I was lugging around an extra 30 pounds (near the end) with both of my pregnancies. I felt so tired all the time, bloated, depressed AND my feet swelled up... not badly but enough so that my shoes felt uncomfortable. I'm sure you've noticed by now that each woman's pregnancy is different from all others. Some are similar, but each one is different. You should be feeling that little "tickle" in your tummy at about 4 or 4 1/2 months. I envy you that feeling! It's beautiful when you feel that life inside of you! Your feeling nothing right now is awesome... enjoy it while you can!

First of all, congratulations to you and your husband!! My little baby is reaching 4-months-old. :) The first symptom that I have before I knew that I was pregnant is sensitivity to aromas! Then slowly I found myself get hungry in a short while. So you always need to have at least a packet of biscuits with you anytime anywhere! Then you will found yourself growing fatter and putting on weight yet you do not see bulging belly. Do not be surprise, you could only see your belly growing after like 4 months of the pregnancy. When your belly is getting bigger, you will be getting lazier to move around and get tired easily. But no worry, it will only last 1-2 months and you are ready to deliver and KISS YOUR BABY ON THE FOREHEAD already!!! Enjoy your pregnancy! You shall start to shop for maternity wears. I almost buy new clothes every month when I was pregnant! Good luck to you too!

Hi there, I announced to my families after I found out that I am pregnant. ;p I do not keep any secret for the first 3 months as some old chinese thinks that we should keep it until after 3 months otherwise the pregnancy will not be a successful one. I think we should take extra care during the first 3 months instead of not sharing it with other people. kekeke..but I guess you want to give your family a surprise, right? I am the kind of person who can hardly keep a secret of myself ;p

i have to say congrats! it is a huge blessing for you and your family. i just had my daughter 7 weeks ago and im so glad she is here. for me i didnt have much morning sickness til around 8 weeks adn i guess it wasnt really morning sickness as i only got sick when i smelt certain foods. i hated hot dogs and ranch dressing. and for a very short while i had cravings for pickles but other than that..nothing. i was tired alot and gained about 15-20 pounds. i remember her first kick and i remember always being excited for every ultrasound. and i have to say if you catch yourself watching baby shows on tv..dont get into the hype..it is not nearly as bad as they make it out to be. i was 5 cm when i went into hosp and it was over within 5 hours. would have been shorter but they gave me meds to slow my contractions down so it took a little longer but still 5 hours is not bad at all. my epidural kept wearing off. but it wasnt that bad.. and i was up walking around the same night. you will remember every precious moment.. its great congrats again added you tip: also if you look online there are alot of baby freebies you can get.. i did that while i was pregnant and it really helped..coupons for diapers. everyonce ina while i get a diaper in the mail. i added to the mailing lists of all the formula companies. i got sippie cups, i got coupons for bottles, pacifiers, etc. i got bottles. it all helps. babies are expensive.

Congratulations kwenge .. welcome to the community those who have child. There cannot be any better gift than having kids. As i am not a mother i cannot share firsthand experiences with you. Still i can feel the enormous joy and happiness one feels in his mind when such good things happen in life. I spent some time in life without child and when we have the confirmation from the doctor it was like a gift from the god. And now we have one daughter and one son. Now life is more meaningful and it makes me forget all external worries when they just hug me. Hope you would enjoy the same soon... bit by bit

Congratulations!! My wife and I have a 15 year old daughter and she is what we both live for! Having a child is the most wonderful, rewarding experience anyone can go through. There are obviously problems on the way, both before and after the birth, but the joy and happiness far outweigh the bad times.
