we spent good money for the things we buy,but when we need to pawn something for a little extra cash we can,t get hardly anything for what you pawn.it can be brand new those crooks still try to avoid giving you a fair price.i hate when they do that to people i think it,s a rip off.especially when people have paid a good price for what they are pawning.have this happen to you before we sometime have to do this

may i have a question for you ,if you got some problems and you need money ,where can you get some money ? i think you can only get money in pawnshop .and sometimes you can also get cheap good in pawnshop. so i think you may make a good plan for your life expense .for me ,i only buy the thing i really like and i will never sell it to pawnshop although when i need money some day.so a buying plan is very important for our long life.do you agree ...

don,t assume this is a personal question posted here their is nothing wrong with my finance but if i needed it i would go to the pawn shop without any shame.and the plan for my life is just fine you need to stop assuming thing when you don,t know what you are speaking about.iam well a where you can get cheap stuff because they have jacked the prices up so most of the time people can,t get the stuff out .and please don,t say never at times we all have hard times but trying to belittle a person because they have to do something different then what you have to do to get money is just wrong.thank you for sharing you have a blessed day

I know someone who owns a pawnshop and have seen how they do business. I'm not sure about what you mean by crooks, but when something has been used - it doesn't matter if it's still "new", as long as it has been used then it immediately loses value. A pawnshop earns through the interest that it gives you when you borrow money while it holds on to your stuff as collateral, so that would mean that if you don't pay then they should still be able to sell your stuff for, at the very least, how much they gave you. But if that's all they did then that wouldn't be pretty good business would it because you wouldn't be earning? So they'd let you borrow money for a lower price of that thing that you're letting them hold on to - it's just business. Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

although i see some certain people are trying to frown on you for pawning i am not going to do so because i really know how it is! especially with the economy the way it is! but truthfully its probably a real bad time to be pawning but at the same time something you may feel you have to do because you have no other choice but because the economy is so sucky right now pawn shops are probably not hardly buying anything. we have totally got ripped off my fiance bought me a white gold diamond engagement ring for 1000 and pawned it because my son had to have heart surgery and we ended up having to pawn alot of our stuff because he was off work and we needed gas money to go back and fourth to the hospital to home which is a good 100 miles away but anyways they only gave us 60 for it and we had a xbox with 6 games and a computer and all they gave us for all that was 250 the computer itself was just bought for 1100 and the xbox was 200 and all the games were atleast worth 200 by their self but we have since gotten better but no pawn shops are in it to make money only not there to help you!

When you're down on you're luck and aint got no money, take something down to a pawn broker. He'll give you money and a pawn ticket for the item. You have a certain amount of time to buy back the item, otherwise the pawn broker sells it. This is often a last resort for cash. it means to lose all dignity in a vain attempt to conciliate financial debt by temporarily selling one's most valued possessions to good peoples for pennies on the dollar.

pawn shops are a rip off the little bit of money you do get for your product it probably nothing for what you pay for it.sometimes it jsu t better to sale it then go to the pawn shop.giving your stuff to those crooks.thank you for sharing and merry christmas.

that is how pawn shop works remember, they are not going to get the money you payed for from their customers, they sell their stuff cheaper, so lets say you paid 800 for something but the pawn shop will only sell it for 500 hundred, so right there 300 is lost, and they must make a profit right? so they are going to pay you next to nothing, so you are lucky if you get 200 and they make 300 dollars on the sale.

I will never ever pawne anything and this is why. I have known people to pawn stuff off then after payday they go back to get the item and it's gone, sold??? If and when I get in a hard spot I would just sell the item and be done. Let's say you have a ring to pawn so they give you 50.00 and then they sell it for 100, I'd rather cut the middle man and just sell my ring for 100.00, but that's just my idea. In my opinion those people in the pawne shops are crooks just like you said and guess what they're doing good making money, that's why they're in bussiness. I'd rather sell on ebay or in a sale.

i have never been is a situation that i had to pawn some thing. we always save some thing for a rainy day. we do nto spend all that we earn and seldom buy on credit. If i do use the credit card, it is only for a short duration. I payback the moment i get the credit. I do not like to live beyond my means.

Definately a rip off Annjilena! Pawn shops are there for one reason and it's to get good stuff for free and sell it quadriple. I hate pawnshops to and don't shop at them because of this.

When my kids were younger, I would take their old Nintendo games (ones they no longer played) to a pawn shop and buy new (used) ones from there. You're right about not getting much at all for anything you take there... they'll rip you off. They know they have you by the, well, you know... the ballz, and there aren't many pawn shop owners who actually have a heart! They're in it for the money, totally.

Yes, I have pawn things before and I do understand that you do not hardly get a lot for it. The only way I will pawn something is if I needed to have extra cash to go towards a bill. I do not just pawn anything to be pawning it.
