Now THAT i don't understand. I've heard that Mamma Mia was a real boring movie. My daughters and her friends tried to watch it before and ended up leaving the theater after 20 minutes cause they said they could not stand it. My husband's daughter tried to watch it too but she just said it was an ok movie. Our daughters are both crazy about Titanic. They could watch it forever over and over again and again. I really don't get why Mamma Mia beat Titanic. Maybe the brits enjoy musical films. I personally don't but I did see Hairspray only because of John Travolta that's all. Maybe the brits like Pierce Brosnan. He's a cool block eh? :D

Maybe I'm not a typical brit, but I don't generally enjoy musicals or appreciate Pierce Brosnan! In Mamma Mia he was probably the character that annoyed me the most, because his singing was painful to listen to, and also to watch, as the effort of it made him look as if he was going to collapse, . I was quite worried for him, and was silently willing him to not sing any more. I think that he was supposed to be the male "eye-candy", for the older section of the audience - but he doesn't do anything for me.

Both awful awful movies, you've missed nothing! I was dragged to see Mamma Mia by my daughter and her friends. Great if you are a 16 year old girl and older if you enjoyed ABBA first time round. I confess to tapping my feet and dancing embarrassingly. LOL. I found the movie appallingly acted and clearly done for a laugh by the big names that are in it. Whoever cast Julie Walters in there really needs shooting. She's beyond bad. As for Titanic? Great computer effects and that's it.

I'm also glad it wasn't High School Musical or Hanna Montanna (and slightly surprised!) I haven't seen Titanic, but I have seen Mamma Mia. It was a nice, uplifting film, and very girly - with big emphasis on female friends being there for eachother, drinking and generally having a good time together. It's a feel-good film and the women in the film certainly have all the fun! However, a big part of the film is obviously the ABBA songs that are blasted out at every opportunity. And while I love ABBA songs, sadly a lot of the cast members can't sing very well, and I found a lot of very cringe-worthy moments! You also get the feeling that the story (which isn't a particularly strong one), was just cobbled together to accommodate as many ABBA songs as possible. Some of the links are really quite tenuous! Overall though, I liked it as it made me feel happy!

Goodness me. It must be good to beat the Titanic. I am going to watch this Movie now. My Mother said it was really good but I just never got around to seeing it. I still cannot believe the Titanics record is beaten by this movie.

I have yet to get the chance to watch it. I heard it is good. But missed its screening on the big screens. Waiting for the DVD to be released. I may rent it to watch. I kind of like musicals. The most recent one I saw was Hair Spray!
