stem cell research

A lot of people express their opinions on things like stem cell research and the morality of it but I often wonder if people have any idea of what they are talking about. What do you think about stem cell research? Do you think embryonic stem cell research is immoral or do you think people are making a fuss over nothing? I think it's murder, what about you? and why.

Nearly all of the successful treatments using stem cells have come from the use of adult stem cells. Most of the private research money therefore goes to further the understanding of adult stem cell treatments. I am against embryonic stem cell experimentation and treatments both because it involves the killing of a baby in his or her earliest stages of development, and because such treatments have had bad results, and there is an alternative which has proven to really work.

You are absolutely right, from what I've read adult stem cell research has been far more successful than embryonic stem cell research yet they don't mention that on television when they have celebrities advocating the cause. According to the books I've read, there have been 0 cases of success when using embryonic stem cells compared to the many adult stem cell cases that have been successful. It's become so casual to kill babies using the excuse that they aren't alive. I find it beyond disturbing.

There are at least some of those who continue to push for more money and research to go into embryonic stem cell experimentation who want to do so to further convince people that embryos are simply a type of tissue that can be either discarded if inconvenient, or harvested for medical research for possible treatments. A human embryo is a small, very young human baby. A dog embryo is a small, very young puppy. A cat embryo is a small, very young kitten. As as videos taken within the womb have shown, as those those embryos develop they come to look and even act very much like babies, kittens and puppies act once they come into the world outside their mommies. I hope more people will come to face the facts, and put efforts into finding out which adult stem cells can best be used to help restore people to better health.
