Hi there marcia I wish I had a relative that I could just pop over and have Christmas dinner with as I really fancy putting my feet up this year and letting someone else have the stress of doing the cooking. My mother is going up to her mother's who lives 5 hours from me but she is 81 now and suffering with altheimers, she's not very tolerable of younge children anymore. One of my brother's has moved house just today so I think him and his family wouldn't want the stress of me coming to them and besides they will probably go to his in-laws. My father is spending Christmas with his sister in Sweden and my other brother is all the way over in Kuwait!

I might make ham for Chrsitmas. That is what we usually like to have. There is nothing that beats a really good Christmas ham in my book. I guess that there are other things to look at but a ham is really the best as far as I know.

We don't hav the traditional dinner. We all love Italian food and none of our family is really crazy about Turkey so w have the traditional at Thankssgiving and at Christmas we all cook our favorite Italian dish and go to my mom's and have dinner. Last year I fixed cheese stuffed manicotti, this year I'm fixing Lasagne. It's a little different but we have a good time. Have a Great Christmas!

Well for appetizers I'm going to have clam dip, potato chips, pretzels, and corn chips. Maybe some 7 layer dip. For the dinner part, I'm having ham, roast beef, baked macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, collard greens, rolls, and I think that's it. Seems like something is missing. But anywho... For dessert I am having sweet potato pie, and COOKIES. Peanut butter, sugar, chocolate chip, and oatmeal cookies. Mmm. And of course some punch and eggnog. Yummy.

Marcie Darlin you can come on over to my house. I would be glad to have you for dinner. My mom, kids and grandkids will be here. I will be cooking a turkey, also a ham. I am going to make my potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, chili cheese dip with tortilla chips. I will also have regular chips, pickles stuff like that. I will also have some home made fudge and home made cookies. I am also going to make a couple of homemade cheesecakes, one regular and one chocolate. We be eatin good in my neighborhood. I wish you a very Merry and Joyous Christmas. This weekend a bunch of us will gather at my moms for her Christmas party. Then next weekend we will be at my moms again, that is if my sister comes in town. She has to come from Virginia through the mountains, so it will depend on the weather if she comes.

We're having ham & a roast, mashed potatoes & gravy, succotash, squash, string beans, pumpkin bread, homemade rolls, and an apple pie. Nobody's going to walk away hungry lol (a few pounds heavier...but not hungry hahaha) Both of my daughters and families will be here, and it will be sort of a rushed day. The one Dr & hubby are both veterinarians, so they only have that day off, and are on call Christmas morning until 8am. It's a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive for them each way, so I'm sure they'll be tuckered out by the time they get home again! I hope you have a great day and get to visit (and eat!) at your daughters house. That sounds like a nice time! I vote for you not cooking so you can relax some. Hope your day is cheery, merry & bright!!! PS...if this should happen to post twice, I got a page not found error when I tried to post my response. I've been having trouble with that ALL day and finally gave up on posting today! ('cept for this one)

Oh yes! I do the pumpkin breads and pies from scratch. I always have a pumpkin patch to harvest in the fall, but this year some animal came from the woods and ate the middle out of each one of them...so they were worthless to use as food. Grrrrr, I guess I'll have to put some kind of mesh fence around them next year lol. So, I got a huge pumpkin at the farmers market and cooked it down. I made pumpkin bread with it at Thanksgiving and everybody liked it so well I have to do it for Christmas too hahaa. All's well here, hoping it's a good day for you too!
