First I really dont believe in survey.. Those who says that our country Philippines is Hopeless are those who are not contented, they have personal interests.. Mostly Politicians here are the ones who says that.. they didnt pay attention on the positive side but rather they always sight the difficulties which is really disgusting to hear..

You are right, even some in our leader talk negatively and even the media, so some people believe them. Some people too go immigrate in other country because their is a good opportunity there but, there is no peaceful home as our country.... Thanks my friend Happy new year

No No No , d'ont say that, cause non of the countries in this world are hopeless. Of course countries have their bad sides, in fact all countries do even America. Every country is special in their own way. Even Philippines people can do something for the future. One of my brothers is even studying in your country thinking that it is better than than any other country and now he has a family there. Well never give up hope in your country and remember that country is just a division made by human beings

I don't think that we are hopeless. We've been wealthy before and it's not impossible to happen again. There are lots of Filipinos exceeding in their field abroad. It will only takes enough opportunities here and good government. Filipinos are real hardworking and I know most of us are willing to help our country.

I also do believe that our country is hopeless. I remembered about the story that my father was telling us last week that he had an argument with the driver of the cab he hired. The driver was blaming our President of all the hardships that Philippines is experiencing. My father said that our country is still not a loss since we are not yet bankrupt like US and other big countries. We are still doing fine. Some of our fellow Filipinos are just negative about things and they do not look into the positive side. Mabuhay Philippines!

I don't think RP is hopeless too. You can't remove the economic struggle in every country and we, Filipinos, have been struggling for a lot of years now! It even dates back in our history and still we survived, we fought back. We are survivors! So long as we don't lose hope and those corrupt leaders get thrown behind jail bars, we can still make a better country! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

I don't believe in those surveys because it only serves the people who paid for the surveys. If they want what is best fo the country they should help contribute their knowledge in every issues and not just hiring people to make surveys just to say the country is hopeless.

Wow! that's pretty bad. I am filipino that love my country with lots of pride in it. As long as thier is life thier is always hope and that's what i believe. And certainly, philippines has a lot of potintial that could give the world, it is just need to recognize and have a better people at the top level. I quess the main reason why their people believe that we are hopeless because we don't have a beeter leader that will bring us up.

I don't think that The Philippines is hopeless. It's just in our state of mind. We see lots of poor people around and it kind of sends us an impression that our country is hopeless when it's not. There are still lots of rich people around. Funny thing is, the people may be poor but they still own a cellphone. How can we be hopeless if we still can afford it? Let's just be positive. The more we think we're getting hopeless then the more it will become a reality but when we just move on and think that we can do it, then there's always till hope.

Exactly, I completely agree. I came from the Philippines and I don't believe that it's hopeless because there can still manage to do certain things just to survive. It is just the perception of some other people or country but the truth is, Philippines is still a rich country and has so many resources. The problem is, it wasn't used properly or wasn't discovered yet.

Hi miamhae, no matter what, we all love our respective countries. There may be any number of surveys conducted etc: but for a citizen there is no other country like his/her own.Corruption and a lot other evils are part and parcel of any developing country and Philippines is a developing country going through all these difficulties. You should love your country and try to make whatever difference you can by being a good citizen, i feel thats the best one can do in a corrupt country, living an honest life

No corruption in Phillipines? are you sure? I dont think there is any country in Asia that has no corruption except probably Japan and Singapore. All other countries have corruption in different forms like you had with Marcos and Imelda ( they had to leave the country )and later on with other rulers - it is something that happens with all developing countries in the world !

I love our country too so until now even if it seems we are really hopeless because of the politics and corruption but I am still hopeful and I always include it to my prayers that we still have hope and the people also have a big factor to contribute because most of the population here in our country doesn't follow such rules like in the pedestrian etc...

Filipinos are actually optimistic, so no matter what happens or how hard the blows hit them, they will sure rise up and survive. We are also "happy" that even if we have really big problems, we usually don't delve into depression and face the world smiling. I think that these attitudes of Filipinos really helped as a countermeasure to the unstable economy and condemnable system that we have. I do not believe that our country is hopeless. Millions of Filipinos do not stop in working things out for their families, even though this is an indirect manifestation of Filipinos' love for their country. There can so much be done for the betterment, and even though the system is really difficult to change, there can always be a solution to every problem.

As what theyve said, if theres life theres hope.. Seriously speaking, Im also in doubt whether our country can still cope up to the crisis weve been facing for a long time. As years passed by, we are going to much deeper and terrible situation rather than going up. Politics and corruptions are getting worst every year. So how can we solve our financial problem, if those who are supposed to be helping our country, are the one's who are adding to the problem.

hopeless in a sense that as an ordinary Filipino, we cannot change the system of governance especially corruption and political businesses..It somewhat become our culture already..but despite that, I believe also that Filipinos are "madiskarte"...Amidst of the crisis and poverty, we still surviving.

The Philippines is a beautiful country with beautiful people. You can only say it is hopeless when it becomes a killing field or a deserted area but luckily it isn't. A lot of people went abroad to help out the Philippines not to disregard it. I for one lives outside of the country but I am a filipino by heart and soul. As what you have read in the article that more people do believe that it is not hopeless. I guess this is true and can be validated by you and me.;-)

The systems is what makes the Philippines seems poor. The Philippines is still very rich in Natural resources. We are still rich in Marine resources, have our mines, and many many more resources... Infact we still have our black Gold found in Cotabato, Sarangani Island to be exact...If only our system be change, if only we will be bless by Good Government, Good Leadership, There is no way that the Philippines be Hopeless...If other countries that does not have such rich resources can still make it why not the Philippines? Compare example singapore.Compare their Natural resources to ours,But why Singapore on top of the list? It's the System...
