Dear friends,Am leaving to hospital for an open surgery(hysterectomy).I'l be back after 10 days.I have not commented back lot of responses I received for my discussions.I'l come back and certainly comment on those.I feel bad for not commenting back.bye.see you back very soon friends.

I had one a year ago. Have they talked to you about what happens after? Everyone is different, and I don't want you to be nervous. The surgeons are experts and they know what they are doing. It's the lifecare afterwards I wonder about. Are you a young woman? If so, you will need to take hormones so that you don't enter menopause early. Make sure you carefully monitor your dose so that you get the right dose to get back to your normal self. One thing they don't tell you is that if the hormones are not balanced correctly you may experience depression. I personally thought seriously for a moment about driving my car into the ice-filled river. Communicate with your doctor about everyting. Ask questions, even if you think they are stupid. Ask about pain management. The lady in the room beside me had morphine and spent half of her time in the hospital puking her guts out. Oh, and make sure you have some Ovol or something for the gas after the surgery. The farts are huge, but at least they aren't very smelly. If you have any questions, I can tell you about my experience. I would be happy to talk with you about it.

Hi friend,Am back home and fine after surgery.They sent me home after the sutures were removed.I had to undergo this surgery and no other option.As you said I was much affected only by the gas which fills when an organ is removed.But I managed by walking in the hospital three times a day.Only the first day was very painful.After that I didn't feel much pain.I asked the doctor whether I would get any menopause symptoms but the doctor said I would not get any immedietly.So I have to wait and see.At present I feel normal.I have a doubt only about gaining weight.There is a general opinion that the result of this surgery is gaining weight slowly?Is it true? I am 40.Did you gain weight after surgery and did you feel any difference in your physical appearance in the long run after surgery. Thanks for sharing.happy mylotting.

They had to take my ovaries too.So I would get menopause symptoms in future if not immediately.This is my 11th day after surgery so lets wait and see what happens.Am a home maker and have a grown up daughter,so I could manage the symptoms somehow.At present only the gas is painful for me and I manage by taking small walks often.

My friend, I am one day late so by the time I post this, I think you are already at the hospital for your surgery. Nevertheless, I already said my prayers so that God will take care of your during the whole process and to get you back into your feet soon.
