Yes I do enjoy my time with my kids. I enjoy teaching them how to play with their new toys if they need my help but only when they request for help. Most of the time, my kids would do on their own to prove they are capable, but when they give up and find me for help...that is the only time I come into rescue. I want them to develop their mental and mechanical activities through the toys I am giving them. But I also find it a time to teach them and enjoy their company.

Yes, whenever we see a new toy and our child needs to be taught about the operations of the new toy, we also indulge in it and start feeling ourselves the child again for few moments. It gives me great pleasure to observe kids playing with toys, that make me remember my own childhood.

I love going to playparks just after Christmas. There you can see all the parents (particularly the Dads!) taking the opportunity to play with the kid's new toys whilst fibbing to themselves that they are 'helping'! Last year we watched a pair of blokes playing with a remote controlled car for ages whilst their kids sat despondantly on the swings!
Personally, I normally let my kids figure out their new toys for themselves. It's more of a learning experience for them, and more fun. If they want help, I'm there if they need me.

I take it as a chance to be a kid again and play with the toy :) I just sometimes miss being a kid and being able to play with toys. Some toys these days can be very fun and entertaining even for adults. They never made toys like that when I was a kid! Merry christmas to all!

Hi balasri,
I don't really know the answer for myself, and my son is now 28. But what I do know from watching my husband put toys together, he usually became very frustrated by the time he figured the darn thing out. Another thing I know about men is, they never grow up.
