I could see the engine," passenger says. "I noticed it was on fire". Continental jet veers off runway while attempting to take off from Denver airport. Jet also caught fire in ravine 200 yards from runway. Thirty-eight people were treated for injuries at hospitals.

Looks like none of the 38 injuries were burn victims. Mostly bruises and bone fractures. Do you think it is human nature in an emergency to trample one another like a stampede?

I can't even imagine being that scared but I know people don't think of nothing but getting to safety no matter how they get there if they have to go around or over people to do it. I know I would try to take the fastest route but I would hope that would not trample anyone and try to keep a cool enough head about it that I could think sensibly.

Ok, that would freak me out. However, as I would have to get my wife and children off the plane, too. I would have been more concerned with preventing them from getting run over in the stampede, I think.
