Did you have your own room as a child, or did you have to share?

Sharing a room with a sibling isn't so bad is it? I just have to ask because I don't have any brothers or sisters, I've always wondered what it's like to have at least one sibling. I always had my own room when living with my momma and daddy growing up, and the couple years I lived with my Grandma, I shared a room with one of my cousins because there were more kids than there were rooms. I'm just glad that 5-10 of us didn't have to bump up in one small room. That would of been uncomfortable, NOT to mention a **DISASTER!** Hehe! How was your childhood bedroom experience? Did you love it, like it, hate it, or would you just say "OH Heck, WHATEVER?"

I always had my own bedroom. I wish I could say the same for my kids, but my boys have had to share a room all of their lives, and my daughter has had her own. I only have brothers, so sharing a room would have been quite a bit awkward, as well as difficult for us. I wouldn't change it a bit.

I only have one child, and she's almost 10 months old. She has her own room but she rather sleep with me. Maybe I should move in her room, but she'll follow me.

I currently have my own room, and my sister has the room next door. I love my room, though it's a bit cold. It's painted purple, which is one of my favorite colors. I have a green bedspread and pillow and purple curtains. I also have a walk-in closet, where I hang up all of my clothes. I have a desk, with all of my homework and my laptop. I like my room, because it feels like me. =)

I think I love your room too. Purple is also one of my favorite colors. Sounds like the perfect room to me. Lucky you.

I wasn't able to have my own room, even now, because we are not a high income family.Maybe when I get my own job I would have my own room, probably my own house.

I had to share with my sister and my brother. That was OK since I was around 10 years. Basically, I had to share room with people half of my life-childhood,teenage,college... I didn't mind:)

I am an only child, so I never had to share a room with another sibling. I think that this changed my perspective on the situation. I like my space, and I do not think that I would like to share a room with someone else. I think I would be fine with having a room mate in an appartment or something, I just would not want to live in one room with them.

I know what you mean. When I was a child I wondered what it was like, but as I got older, I preferred to have my own room because I grew to love my space.

I have never had my own room sad to say. Growing up, I would have to share a room with my parents. Mainly during the winter months, and we had wood stoves in the master bedroom and the dining area. Huge house so we had to keep warm. Once I finally got my own room, I had to share with my sister. Imagine a neat freak sharing a room with a slob, I hated it sometimes. Actually if I think about it, I have never had a room by myself. Once I left home and joined the Navy, I had to share a living space with 20 something other girls. Got to my command(ship), had to share a living space with over 30 something other girls. Moved into an apartment with my boyfriend(now husband) and now my own home. I guess sharing a sleeping space prepared me for what I have to put with now I guess. I went with sharing with a slob as a child to sharing with a slob as a husband, .

I always had my own room growing up and my brother also had his own room. It was nice to not have to share a room with my brother since he's 6 years younger than I am. When we lived in the house with my mom and dad my room and my brother's room were across the hall from each other. Then when my parents split up we moved into an apartment with my mom and we both had our own room but the rooms were side by side instead of across the hall. Then when my mom bought her house by herself both of our rooms were upstairs but our rooms were divided by the bonus room.

I had to share with my older sister and then with my niece. I eventually got a room all to myself just before I moved out and got my own house. It was nice to be alone for that short little while.

I have to share a room with my brothers. Imagine, I am an only girl. But, I enjoyed sharing the room with them because we got to fight and just be crazy inside the same room.

I had my own room for most of my life, although there was a short time when I did have to share a room with my brother. It was only because there was no other choice. However, other than that, I always had my own room...until I got married, now I'll never have my own room again!

LOL I slept in the same room as my parents and older sister. They had their own bed and we slept on a bunk bed. That was only until I hit like 14 (I think) I started sleeping on the couch, it had a bed that came out of it, and I would put up a sheet for privacy.

For quite awhile, I had my own room in the different places I lived, though inbetween when Ilived with my grandma off and on when I was younger though, I slept and played in a common area. Even when my sister came along when I was 8, we both had our own rooms, though a year or so after my brother was born, my sister and I shared a room. That happened when I was about 9, until I left home a little before I was 17.

When I was a child, I shared a room with my grandma. Later when I was in high school, I had my own room and it's better. At least nobody would bother me any more. I like to have my own room. I love China

I grew up in a two bedroom house, with two brothers. We shared a room when we were little, but the sleeping arrangement was that they slept on the hidabed in the living room. I was fifteen when I actually got my own totally private room. Moved away from home after college and have been sharing a room since.

I was an only child so I didn't have to share a room at my dad's house when I went to my mom's house I didn't have to share a room either just the living room with everyone. My brother tried to sleep in the livingroom with me on the couch because we didn't get the chance to see each other very much or very often.

I grew up having to share a room with my sister, most of the time it was alright, sometimes it wasn't, especially if we were fighting, then it wasn't so good for us to be in the same room..lol. I guess I would say, it was Ok...we were close tho, we talked about everything, and we're still close now.
