Decapitated Boy Lives

I came across this story that I found to be quite interesting. It seems that a mom in Texas had an accident while driving a few months ago and her nine-year-old son who was a passenger in the back seat suffered injuries that amounted to his being decapitated. It is what the doctors define as an orthopedic decapitation because his skull was separated from his spine. Miraculously, the boy survived thanks to reaching the hospital in time. The doctor who treated him said that it was the first such case that he'd seen where the person survived such an injury. The patient in the rare cases that have survived usually are paralyzed. Not with this boy. He was able to walk out of the hospital on his own following his recovery. I call this a true miracle!

Wow, what a wonderful story my friend and thank you for sharing, that is truly amazing and truly a miracle! The boy must be blessed for sure and the doctor I hope has received a commendation for his wonderful work. What a horrific accident and to actually be able to walk away from it, well it makes you wonder doesn't it, how the universe works in mysterious ways and even better to hear it at Christmas time! Goes to show that the world isn't always a bad place.

It truly is an inspiring story, wolfie, and I imagine that his family is so very thankful that he was able to survive such an ordeal.

what is the source for that story? It is medically impossible once the skull is decapitated to put it back. If that was true this story would be made world wide news everywhere on this planet, not just one little obscure story somewhere, most likely made up.

Yes there is a reason, the world as we know it will change, but it will get much worse before it gets better...And yes, I noticed right away when you were no longer here..Maybe because out of all me friends, you probably live the closest to me, or at least I visit the city you live in often...Plus you have good discussions, especially the news parts that I miss because I am busy on other sites to read what is happening in the world..(Not that I am clueless, but you usually share it before I read it myself)

That is quite a story and a wonderful miracle. Sometimes it is amazing what we can go through and how some people survive injury without any known reason why. I think this sounds like one such case...

Actually, it isn't the first time that's happened. Discovery Health's Medical Incredible did a piece on another boy who lived after decapitation. I believe he was hit by a car while riding his bike. Nevertheless, both are certainly miracles.

i agree with you, worldwise, that this is a miracle indeed. God's hand at work with a doctor to make the child make him healthy enough to lead a normal life after such an incident. good news like this one, make us hopeful that if ever we need a miracle it can still happen to us, too. thanks for sharing such a good news. it makes the spirits soar high.

Wow, what an amazing story. I am very surprised that the boy was able to survive. This must have truely been a miracle. I cannot imagine the guilt that his mother was faced with when she realized his injuries from the accident. I think he also must have had some wonderful doctors and medical staff to look after him. He must have had a very long recovery from such an injury. Really an inspiring story and thanks for sharing. It is always wonderful to see the new advances in technology and in medicine.

The article pointed out that the timing was very important in this case. They were able to get him to the hospital quickly enough for the doctors to help bring about this miracle, surveytaker. Technology is indeed wonderful.

As I sit here and picture this unfortunate accident I can't imagine this young boy walking out of the hospital on his own. It is truly a miracle. G-d had a plan for this young boy. I can't understand how his mother kept herself together from the time the accident happened until they arrived at the hospital. I had an ice skating accident about 6 years ago and I am very fortunate to be here today. Somehow, someway I managed to recover without any serious complications other than losing my sense of smell and taste. Have learned to deal with both. Fell on the back of my head, had a fractured skull, concussion and clot under my brain. The clot dissolved on it's own and I came home from the hospital the next day. About a month recovery at home and then returned to work. I wonder why I was saved. I wonder what made me so special that G-d spared my life. This accident sure opened my eyes and I am thankful for each day I am here to share with our kids and grandkids. Maybe this is why I love life and people so much. Got another chance!
