we all know the Michael Vick story and who he savagely treated his pitt bulls and made the fight to the bitter end in his virginia home,
he went to jail for that and was made to pay a million dollars
only two of the dogs were considered to vicious to live and were put down,
some were very scared of everyone,
they are all doing well and have been living with new families a year later
some are even working with children,
it goes to show that pitt bulls are not as bad as people think they are only bad people that make them vicious,
what do you guys think
here is one story I found on the net but I actually heard the story from our news this evening

I do not know much about dogs at all. But I would imagine that the way a dog behaves would have to do with his training. Even the cutest daintiest dogs seem to be capable of turning, given the right circumstances. I am glad that the surviving dogs are doing fine. It was certainly horrible what he did to them.

I watch a TV show showing this sanctuary and all these dogs. I feel that they deserve some happiness in their sad lives. I actually had tears running down my face when I saw the dogs whose teeth had been removed or filed down. I honestly do not think that any of these dogs should be adopted into families as there could always be a very real chance that something could trigger them to resort back to their savage instincts. However I do think that they should be allowed to live their lives out in a sanctuary or some other type of controlled environment.

these dogs are said to be rehabilitated and I believe it, they were not bad dogs, some of them were so timid they were afraid of humans and animals.

Animal Planet recently did a special on these dogs as a follow up story. I was happy to see that many of these dogs are now enjoying loving homes. Others are still in recovery or in safe shelters trying to be trained to accept people and other dogs. What bothers me is many cities don't even bother trying to help these dogs. I know the ASPCA in Detroit automatically euthanizes pitbulls that are suspected of dog fighting. They don't even allow them a chance. There are other cities that do this as well. Another thing that bothers me is Vick's so called apology. We all know the only reason he apologized is to try and look better for the courts and the NFL. We also know that he didn't really feel a bit sorry for what he chose to do to those dogs.
So a story like this, that takes abused pets and rehabilitates them to place them in loving homes makes me feel happy and also proud of the workers that go the extra mile helping these dogs.

It is so nice to hear that the dogs are doing well. I still cannot believe that people can treat animals so cruely.
As for some thinking that pitbulls are terrible dogs, I do not believe this is true. I think a dog develops because of the way it was trained and the events that have happened to it through it's life. I do not think that any breed of dog is born to be evil.
It is wonderful to hear that some of the dogs are working with children. It is nice to see that something good has come out of a terrible situation.
