Couldn't have said it better myself

clever shepard - This had to be a hillarious sight to see. i thought though, how much of a metaphore is this for our current society and government here in this country today.

I saw this picture after someone pointed it out to me. It made me both chuckle at the basic image being presented, the obvious scenario, than it made me think, after realizing how much it spokes volums as a metaphore for what is going on in this country today. See if you get the same deeper picture I did. If the picture he is carrying is hard to make out on your screen, it's a wolf.

Well if the bigger picture is that the political machine on both sides tries to make the other the big bad wolf so that people will vote for them instead.....so ya by doing that they use fear to control us. Plus it speaks to the "herd" or "group" thinking that a lot of people go in for. Is that what you meant?

I was refering more to fears the government in general uses us to drive us to support and accept policy, economic, political and security fears. and being as washington isn't alight with torches and pitchforks, I'd say it's still working pretty well.

I would unforunately have to agree with you. It is working a little too well in my opinion.

I "get" what you're trying to say but I must agree with Mntl's comments. It's just a picture of a shepherd and some sheep. However, if I had to associate it with what is happening or has happened in our country I'd have to say it definitely represents us from 9/11 until probably about 2006 when people began to come out of their hypnotic trances. yeh, that is whatI was getting at annie, not just 9/11 fears though, economic fears, social fears, political fears, national security fears. The government uses all of thses fears to drive us to policy support. We haven't woken up one iota either, 2006 didn't change anything, really. "We need this bail out or the big bad economy is going to get us", etc

This picture doesn't speak anything about our country, really. It's just a shepherd and his herd. To you, it resembles what's going on in our country now. To someone else, it will resemble what's been going on in our country from 9/11/2001 until the last couple of years. To political independents, it might resemble loyalists of either or both the two major political parties. But it's just a picture of some sheep.

The statement it made to me was not only 9/11 but government policy and using fear to drive the heards in general. "We need to pass a bail out or the big bad depression is going to get us " We need to have these extra laws and powers because the big bad terrorists are going to get us" and so on
