My partner and i can very rarely go out together as we seldom have a babysitter. This means that one of us has to stay in while the other goes out and paints the town red! Is this a problem for other folk on mylot? How do you feel when you are the one left in while the other half goes out to party? Can someone babysit for us tomorrow night? The child is 29 years old. (just kidding! she is 7!)

Yeah bring her over no problem any time you need. its not like my social calendar is full (been pregnant and all that) I love girls they are so much fun more then boys (I love talking about barbies, friends, school and boyfriends) all boys talk about is fighting (except my son lately has found his feminen site must be my hormons rubing off on him). Anyway back to the discussion. I hate going out without my husband. I feel so strange almost like I am out of place. I have done it few times and I dont like it and dont go if it can be helped. I never have problems finding free babysiting service (my parents and sister and when we are overseas I have to chase them away with a stick). The only reason that I might have to go out on my own is if husband is working.

This actually works better for us because we like to have babysitters as little as possible, and neither of us enjoy doing the same things. I like to go out to the clubs with my girlfriends and dance all night, and he enjoys sitting at home with a buddy and playing xbox, or going to a small sports bar and playing pool all night. So we alternate, one week I go out to the clubs and the next he can do what he wants to do. And sometimes it works out because I will go out while he is at home with his friends so its a win-win.

Awwwww, I feel bad for you. You know what? It DOES get better eventually. I had to put in that "eventually" because it's going to take some time....sorry. I remember raising my kids by myself for many years. I did get a baby sitter once in a while. Can't you get one at least once a month? I'm here by myself with Kash but she doesn't go out, haha. She's not allowed out but you can't do that with your wife, haha, but I can do that with my cat. Just remember this discussion in a few years. You're going to wish you could have that little girl back again. Trust me. Time goes by very quickly. I'll babysit if you can keep her on the computer all night so I can talk with her. This way I know she's safe and at home. We'd have fun!

And she probably knows more about computers than me too! Kids are way too intelligent today for me to handle, haha! I like them when they still can't figure things out, haha.

she is never off the pc or wii. i need to hide mylot from her as she is only 7 and i don't want her sounding more intelligent than me!

Yes but not in the same situation as yours though. I’m single and have no boyfriend so every time I socialize, I’m always alone. People would look at me sometimes, waiters would ask me if I’m expecting someone, and I sometimes feel that people pity on me being alone sitting in a corner of a coffee shop reading for hours. But its okay with me, there’s no any problem being alone because I’m used to it. But of course it would be nice too if there’s really that someone whom I could be with sometimes out there socializing.

ha ha ha 29 would have been better. I wouldn't mind baby sitting wiht a 29 year old. At least we could have chatted and played some games together. Alas! 7 year old would be a problem. i guess i will have to ask you two to continue baby sitting and i should go out for the party. You sure you don't want me to baby sit for a 29 year old?

Sometimes I go out with my friends on my own and my husband will stay at home to hang out there. There are times when we go out with other couples as well. It varies from time to time.

well i don't agree about partnership i prefer marrying because , you always say that he is just a partner and you don't care enough for the relation ship , so that doesn't mean that i am a bad person but that does mean the reality because actually there are too much people that have no family, and especially kids that have no parents and all this because of the western developed ideas......

We are married but i refer to her as my partner because she is my partner in everything i do. but i understand your point of view.

Me and my husband always go out together as partners but we often go out alone when we do mundane things, like grocery shopping & etc. I also have a 7 year old and we usually have grandma babysit. Sometimes it's a problem to find a babysitter because grandma isn't always up to watching her grandson if she feels under the weather so we sometimes cancel our party plans because we can't find a sitter. We have New Years eve plans and Grandma has agreed to babysit for us. I desperately need a break from jr on the 31st!. Before we had our son we were out every weekend tearing up the town. We don't paint the town like we use to.My other half doesn't go out and party without me and I don't do that to him also. We have always gone out and party as a couple as long as I remember.

We don't get out much either. Not having a decent car doesn't help and neither does the fact we have 5 kids. No one wants to babysit our monsters! lol. Something about the fact they are way over the top and sooooo full of energy Send your daughter this way. I'm sure she'd love to teach our girls some bad habits and learn a few new ones herself

I know what you mean, only I do not have small children that I need a baby sitter for. My husband is a couch potato, and it is hard to get him to go out much. I usually will go by myself or not go at all. Well, he did go with me to my class reunion this summer. He actually said that if got out of work on Christmas eve he would go with me to my niece's Christmas pageant at church. Well, he got off early and never mentioned it, he ended up taking me and going back home. My husband is home all of the time, he will be more than happy to watch your seven year old

in that case he can babysit and you can join me and the wife in a good night out in scotland!
