Do You Believe in Signs

I went to bed last night with a heavy heart, something was on my mind, and I decided I was just going to stop doing the things I like best, I was not going to be as involved in certain internet activities anymore, or more or less decided that I would just concentrate on my writing and running my e zine and play scrabble and forget about everything else. In other words shutdown from email communications.
I was a sleep and my son woke me up, I got a long distance call from a person from the past, a very dear internet friend, I hadn't heard from her in three years, the way she left the internet was very suspicious and we were very worried about her. Actually one of the group of us send the police to her house just to see if she was okay.
She called me after three years to let me know what had happened. I was so happy to hear from her. After we got through all of the things that had happened in her life she asked me about mine, and I mentioned the current situation and how I was just going to lay low and not bother with anyone, and she said oh know don't do that, so many people love and care about you including me. I told her perhaps it was a sign for me not to shutdown and she said to me, you know God just told me to call you tonight,
and she helped me to feel better by saying that.

Yes, I believe in signs. I wonder when she'll call back to ask for what she needs!!! If she loved you soooo much, why would she just disappear without a trace??? How long does it take to send an email saying I am fine just having problems...will be in touch soon??? Just guessing...you'll get a call soon asking for money!!!
Sometimes I think we make things the sign for what we really want to do!!!

Can't agree with this more LadyMarissa...this person obviously WANTS something to connect after so many years. My mother would only call or get in contact with a person when she wanted a handout..she was famous for that. So wonder about the real motive for people when they suddenly appear out of nowhere after many years of not hearing. Of course we can't expect a reply for either of us...since we hit to much at home here...I only replied since this was on one of the top discussions even though the original poster isn't on my friends list..I know TOO many people who want handouts in life

I am truly sorry for your friend!!! However, I still feel you re grasping for straws. Can you tell me why when your friends sent police officers to her house to check on her did they NOT find out the situation???

I'm sorry about your friend too winterose, but since you didn't give more specific details about her how were LadyMarissa and I supposed to know? True you didn't have to give explicit details about what happened to her but you could have elaborated a bit more about the situation instead of being so vague about it

I do believe in signs, especially when God sends them and it sounds like He did send you one.. Keep the Faith, things will get better but you do have to keep fighting the wrongs in your life so you can make it better.. Things are so very rough in a lot of peoples lives right now and it is not just financial, there are many things going wrong but you have to keep on "Keeping On", never give up..

I do believe in signs. I believe God sends us signs all the time to keep us on the right track. It's up to us to see them and not ignore them and follow them. I'm sorry to hear that your dealing with things that's hard to talk about here. I have always been told to lay everything at God's feet and leave it there. That's not so easy to do, or I would probably have better health. Thankful for your friend to tell you that, because she's right. I don't really know you except for your stories and your discussions here at Mylot. I actually look forward to your discussions and try my best to respond to the ones that relates to me. I'm sure there's a lot of other people that will agree with me on that.

thanks so much my friend, I could talk about I just feel in this situation the least said is the better, but yes that was a sign, and I am grateful for it, and I am grateful for you too.

Hi Winterose, Well you certainly would be missed but how strange after three years for her to just suddenly call. I am pleased that you discovered that she is okay and if she felt prompted by God to call you then yes I guess this must have been a sign. I have an aunt who rarely calls but when she does I know it will be with a message and I get ready for change and it is always apt to a situation I am going through. She knows no-one who knows me that she speaks to (except my mum but she is abroad so they speak rarely also) and yet she just knows when to call. Unfortunately some people don't read the signs along the way that could be helpful confirmation to them of something. Huggles. Ellie :D

I do as it happens, sometimes I do not see the signs until after something has happened and I then think about it and realise I had seen the signs. If you understand what I mean!! I have not been looking for signs just recently for anything but I guess I should really be paying more attention. Its great that your friend got in touch with you after all those years that is marvellous, lets hope that you do not lose touch again for so long.

It was so wonderful that she listened when God told her to call you. Some people do not listen. I do not always keep my eyes open for what I should see, either. Sometimes I do see signs but only in retrospect. I never ask for signs. I forget that I have a list of about five things God has sent to me. Physical things, tangible possessions, that I needed, or wanted, and they appeared in my life.

Wow, that was incredible. Signs come when we least expect them. I know that many times I have received a sign be it a word, song, phone call, email or something else. They are there. Sometimes we don't realize that it is a sign and ignore it. But, when we realize that it was indeed a sign it leaves us with an almost eerie feeling.

It sure does, but this one really made me happy, it helped change my perspective, even though I am still going to implement some changes, they will not be as drastic or far reaching as they would have been before.

Oh yes I do, and sometimes when I think things have gone as far as they can go, or should I say as far as I can go without losing my mind, then all of a sudden I hear from someone and they tell me how important I am to them. It's like they call at just the right moment. Or something tells me to leave that alone. Or all of a sudden I see something that is just what I need to fix a problem, like it has been there all the time. I believe there are signs everywhere we just have to wait until the time is right to see them.
I myself have thought many times and mostly just lately about shutting down and crawling into a hole and letting the world pass me by. Just to have peace in my life. Things are really bad and I know that something I did caused it, but I got into it and I will have to work it out. We can't just shut ourselves off from the world as it goes on each day and we have to be strong enough to handle it. please dont' ever think the world does not need you in it.I know you effect my life on here and I am always glad to see a new discussion that you have wrote. Sometimes you make me laugh when I need it most.

God really does work in mysterious ways, Carol. I have often been surprised about how events in my life turn out. I call them God shots. I can't think of any specific ones to share with you, but yeah ... they happen!

I don't know if I believe in them or not, but what you just expressed certainly would qualify as being a sign. I think that if I were in your shoes and that happened to me, I would re-think my position and hang around a while longer. Personally, I love to respond to your discussions as you usually have something interesting to say. Hope you decide to stick around for a while.

Yes I do believe in signs. Especially when I get one as pertinent as yours was. I am a firm believer that God works in many mysterious ways but I think this was a pretty clear indication from him to think it over and I am sure it lightened your heart.

Oh yes, everything is meant to happen for a reason. Sometimes we may not know why something happened but other times we know right away. I do believe that it was a sign that you got when you friend contacted you after all those years, she called you for a reason at that particular time and I for one am glad that she did. Welcome back to all the things you thought you would leave behind.

YES! I totally believe in signs. Everything happens for a reason. I believe God did tell your friend to call you, it was definitely a sign and you don't want to leave people feeling the same way you did when this friend suddenly left. I don't know the circumstances or anything, but I do feel that you should look at your friend calling as a sign. Have a great day!

I definately believe in signs. Especially when its a situation similar to the one you had. I believe that god works in ways that we will never understand, but that he gives us these signs for a reason!!! It has happened to me more then once!!!!
