How many do you have?

I don't know why but I was wondering if any of you have scars....How did you get them and where are they? I have a few, one on my left fore finger where I tried (not purposely) to cut my finger off with my mom's sewing scissors when I was young. I have one on my left knee where I caught my leg on fire. I was a stupid teenager and was burning the strings off of my torn blue jeans. I have one on my right elbow. That one happened when I was dating someone outside of my own race and someone disagreed to it. We were walking, holding hands, when someone ran up behind us and started beating him up. When he turned to defend himself, we were still holding hands, I was pulled to the ground. My skin was sheared off on the pavement, all the way to the bone. A small one on my right thigh from a hot curling iron that was laying on my bedroom floor, while I was getting ready for school one day. A small one on the back of one knee from a rusty nail on top of a swingset that I climbed on top of as a kid. I was kind of a tomboy when I was young, surprisingly, I never got any from all the trees I used to climb and fall out of.

I have many scars on my legs and on my knees. I got it when I was still a child because I was very playful that time. I was also quite careless that I always stumble and fall on my knees. The latest scars that I have was from the incident that happened when I was pregnant about 6 months ago. I was about to fry pork when the pan slipped and some of the hot cooking oil spilled on my legs. It really hurt and it left some scars.

I have a small round scar at the base of my first finger on the right hand - I got it while I was trying to burn some caterpillar invading our trees. I has the bad I idea of making a torch by using some polymeric old clothes. I found out it was polymeric when instead of just burning, it started dripping molten burning plastic on my hand. I have another small set of scars after jumping from a moving train, when I was about 15 years old. I got superficial wounds on my forehead, upper lip, chest, ribs and the upper tip of the basin bones, on both sides. Of those wounds a few remained to remember me of my wisdom: one on my upper lip, on the upper tip of where the basin bone sticks out on both sides and on a few ribs, on the right side. I have another sign right under the right eye, on the outer tip, but nobody remembers if that's a birthmark or a scar.

Actually, it wasn't really that bad, it's just that instead of landing in haystacks or on the grass-covered ground, like in the movies, I landed on the angular boulders from between the rails...

I hope you learned your lesson about jumping from moving trains. Of course, you see how "easy" it is in movies and on TV all the time.....I can see why at 15, you thought it was ok to do.

I have so many it isn't funny. I have one on my wrist, we made taffy and I didnt know that you werent suppose to cut it and I tried. The knife slipped and went thru my wrist. I have a 3 inch one right below the knee, that was from a nail. We were on a homemade truck bed/top and when you went from one side to the other real fast it would tip. Well the guys outweighed me and they tipped it I fell and down I went. It went to the bone. I have one in my eyebrow line, my then boyfriend (now husband) was trying to pull down a radio on some rafters and it got me. I have one under my chin. My pony I had when I was younger bite me, actually pulled the lip almost off. First reaction I bit her back .. LOL! Those are but a very few. My legs look bad as I was a total tomboy as you can read. Probably gave my mom plenty of heart attacks. lol

I have so many scars the bride of dracula would be envious. So here goes. one lower left tummy, two huge one from a radical mystectamy(sp)(cancer), one under left arm pit (CANCER), One top of tummy from a dudenum transposition used to put in my esophogus when cancer was cut out saving my voice box , U shopped scar top left side of forehead healing nicely just happened Thanksgiving day, tubal removal and hystarectomy(sp) scar at lower lower tummy line and other small unimportant scars....I am sure there are people out there that can beat mine in number and importance. I feel lucky to be alive. The worse was the head and neck surgery at MD Anderson in Houston. It is hard to look in the mirror because this is the way it is and nothing can be done about how they look. So I concentrate on things I can make a diffenence in...like my mind.

I'm glad you are alive. I hope you are in remission? Looks are not important, it's the quality of life that you live that's important. I wish you the best life ever from here on out. Best of luck to you.

I'm glad that you are in remission and for so long. I'm sorry that it hasn't been easier for you. I don't know what tosay because I've never been in your shoes but I wish you the best in life. Try to enjoy every day and don't think about what "might" happen. Think about what "is" happening. Good luck to you.

I have been in remission 16 yrs....seems like yesterday. I thought the days, yrs would become easier to live with but it hasn't. I feel like a dark cloud could come my way anytime. I wouldn't fight it. God only knows life as precious as I.

I have one shaped like a boomerang on my right leg. I fell in a hole when I was seven, and a pipe inside the whole cut open my leg to the bone. I still remember what it looked like, but I'll spare you the details. And then it got infected and they thought they might have to amputate below my knee. But they didn't. I also have a nice shaped scar on my upper right arm. I had second degree burns from a car wreck ten years ago. I had cosmetic surgery on it to try to make it look better, and I guess in some ways it does. But the scar is still about six inches long, it is just thinner than the first scar. They cut out my scar, and pulled the skin back together. It took years for the scar tissue to not be so hard. I mean it was hard to the touch. I've also got two twin scars on both sides of my shoulders. I was in a building when a piece of sheet metal fell and it landed on my head. It bent, so it didn't hurt my head, but the edges scraped both sides of my shoulders. Those are hardly noticeable now though.

I have quite a few scars. I have a scar over my right eye under my eyebrow that I got when I was in a car accident. I have a burn on my leg, where I dropped a pan of eggplant parm while taking it out of the oven and it spilled on my leg. I have a scar on my right wrist, which I probably should have had stitches for. One of my ex boyfriends was wrestling with me, and his watch cut my wrist. I even still have a scar on the back of my leg that I got while trying to learn how to ride a bike when I was a child.

I have many scars on my hands. One from dropping a glass bowl of cherries as a kid and one from cutting an apple with a butter knife as a kid. Then I have many scars on my hands from work (we use knives). One on my leg from my brother throwing scissors at me when we were kids. Another on my arm from my brother. One on my forehead when a street sign fell and hit me in the head. One on my foot from glass. And 3 c-sections.

I have more scars then I'd like to think about. Several of them I don't remember getting. I can list the three I remember, and they are in chronological order...The chicken pox when I was six years old on my left eyelid. I tore my leg open trying to jump a fence when I was 14. And my all time biggest, best scar is my c-section scar that I got while delivering my gigantic 11 + pound baby boy.

I have three that I can think of. Two on my fingers, and one from when I tried to catch a pencil by forming a lap at the last second. It ended up "landing between my legs and getting jabbed in sideways. Not too deep, but I had to pick a piece of corderoy out and try not to scream out loud in the middle of class.

I have a couple of scars scattered here and there on my body. My biggest scar is on my left eyebrow area and I had to get fourteen stitches for it. The scar was caused by a large dog when I was like five. I have another scar on my left eyebrow from an accident on a moped as well. I also have a small scar on my right middle finger from the moped accident it's in the shape of an L or a 7.

I have a few scars, not many though. One on my middle finger, left hand, got that one cutting lemons at work nearly cut the end of my finger off! I also have one on my right wrist, when I was little a glass broke that I was putting in the sink. A small one under my chin where I got stitches as a child, I hit the side of a cement pool. I think that's about it, considering how clumsy I was as a child I'd say I'm doing pretty good. :)

Hello, camomom. You have some scary scars, and a lot of story to tell, don't you? I do not have many scars. I do have some, but you wouldn't find them if you searched, because they are all hidden. There is one on my leg from my uncle's motorbike. I was climbing on it when he was going to take me for a ride, but I touched that carburetor, and got burnt. But I was small, and the skin is just a bit darker in the area, covered by my leg's hair now. Another one near the knee, when I was playing with some friends and I fell in the floor... That part of my knee fell straight into a piece of glass. I didn't notice it, it didn't hurt at all. A few moments later, I looked at it and it was like bleeding. Then I realized that it was from the fall. I removed the glass and kept playing. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

On my left leg on the right side of my knee is a scar from getting hit by a car when I was four. Right above the side of my foot on the same leg is an odd round scar that resulted from having put a button in the cast that stayed there for almost a year. There are other small scars here and there on the leg.

I have one very evident scar on my left knee in a shape of the letter 'Y'. I have been carrying it for years since i fell when i was younger. the rest of my scars are either faded and not noticeable or mostly gone. it's quite a pity that as a girl, i want to have nice long flawless legs. but i can't now because of that scar. and i dare not shave that part of my leg because of the scar. It's puffy and protruding. guiding a blade there is tricky business and i have no wish to add on to the injury.

I have 3 visible scars. Two from having my tubes tied which are located on my stomach and 1 scar beside my left eye brow. I got it when I was about 8 years old. My bother and I were playing outside and he was throwing dirt clods at me. I was dodging them. Our dad had told us to stop, but were were kids having fun, so we didn't listen. My brother threw a dirt clod and I didn't dodge it, it hit me right in the face. I remember it hurting and I took off running to the house crying and blood streaming down my face. My brother got in so much trouble for that one! It was just as much my fault as it was his though. I didn't have to have stitches or anything but it really did leave a very noticeable scar. Happy MyLotting, SingleMommy
