Does a new year really mean new beginnings for you?

Honestly, let's take a look at it for a moment. We as a society of people have made the New Year's into some sort of ritual that says we must change something that we consider to be bad in our past, but most of us rarely stick with those new beginnings and most of us far back to doing what we used to do prior. So, honestly, do a New Year mean that you are going to do something new, or are you just going to try to change something old? As for me, I want to be a better father, provider and husband for my family. That means, that I will have to learn new skills in order to apply myself to better paying jobs for the provider part. As for the father part and husband part, I just have to devise my time to spend with my children and my wife. The only new thing is the provider part, and the old is the father and husband parts? What are your thoughts on this?

I wish it meant a new beginning for me. But its just the same old miserable year I dont see how next year will be better any better then this year off course I dont see how it can be worse but knowing my luck it will get worse. And I know i wont have a good start to the new year.

I hope that the New Year does bring some positive changes, but I can see why people feel negative, because since 9/11 and the war, the economy has been difficult and people have been hit hard. But I hope things change for the better. Tweenis

My husband and I play our part in the New Year, New Beginning thing but we rarely keep the resolutions that we make.. We do however try to do better and plan and dream all year long.. Never give up on your dreams even if you can't keep your New Years resolutions, you can always work towards your dreams and they can change over time, so we have a constantly never ending supply of New Dreams and New Goals for us to live by and to go on..

Good old family time, who can argue with that? Yeah, I'll probably catch the PEACH DROP show on TV as well. Even the trains and buses are bound to be crowded today, which is why, I'm more likely to stay home today. My wife wants to take the kids out to do something new with them. But I'm more safety conscious than anything and I wouldn't want someone to act foolish just because they may have had one too many drinks or anything like that. I would rather a peaceful evening in the new townhome we are in, and leave it at that. I'll probably help my son put together his magnetic glow in the dark race track set that his grandmother sent him for Christmas. It arrived yesterday. That's what I'll probably do and give him a chance to learn about magnetism and how to use it properly with his sisters. I know the last race track set I purchased for him, between his sister and him, one of the joy sticks stopped working after they kept running it in the ground day after day. I was too through with him after that. So now, I'll just make sure any new race tracks I buy for him, will be now battery or joystick operated, that way I won't have to get upset if he breaks it shortly after the purchase from frequent use.

Good luck to you and better you than me. I wouldn't put together another toy if my life depended on it.. I did it many years and they liked to have drove me crazy.. I wouldn't chance my families life on whether or not there were drunks on the road this New Years Eve, so we will just enjoy a quiet evening at home..

Maybe i could say it's not for me before but this year i have just realized it that i am looking forward for this year. Maybe because i am inspired and that i am in love. It was new hope for me and new beginning to start a new life, a good beginning. The last couple of years was difficult for me and that i was about to give up but then this year i'm looking forward for lovely changes and good hopes. I believe God will give me what i want this time and that is happiness. Happy mylotting!

Really, a new beginning can be any day, not neccessarily on New Years. People have 365 days a year to turn over a new leaf. The New Year is really just a continuation of the previous year. You can decide on the very first day of the year that you are going to change somethings, but if you do not follow through, it is not a new beginning. I just take one day at a time and hope for the best. My desire is and has been to find a job, I have been out of work for six months, so that is a continuation of what I was doing in 2008

Very well written and thoroughly understood. That indeed is a feet. I will add my faith with yours that the next interview you have will be a step in the right direction to where you will hopefully want to be or definitely can get your foot in the door in the direction to where you want to be. Continue to trust in God, as he always provides. Remember promotion comes not from the north, south, east or west; it comes from God almighty. He sets one down and sets another up. So I declare that God is setting you up for promotion and increase. That is my prayer for you and if you hold God to that word, he word says if he spoke it would he not do it? If shall not return until him void (or unproductive); it shall accomplish that which pleases him and prosper wherever it is sent.

I sure hope you find the rest of your bones to go with your skull there timmons. Maybe then you'll have a better 2009 than your 2008 ever was. Hopefully, you won't have to be concerned about the little things any longer than normal. Maybe if you focused on living life from day to day, or in that moment, and stop focusing on the tomorrow. Hopefully things will turn around for a better good for you.

I think new year does not mean a new stater. With the new year coming, does your life have ang change? Absolutely not.We just repeat to do what we do in the last year.I can't see any change. But to some extent it depends on yourself. If you want to make some change in your life, everyday can be a new start.

I can understand your words. As most of us family people would appreciate, nothing really changes overnight for us or maybe we cant afford to change. We all have our jobs to keep, the family to take care of and children to nurture. A lot of planning is required to steer the boat safely in these rugged waters and if the going has been smooth albeit slow, I would not really want to change anything. A better partner and parent…yes, we all can aspire for that.

Yes, it means a new beginning for me in many perspectives. I spring clean my room, so gone are all the messiness in my room. With a tidy room, organized notes and all the books resting nicely on the shelves which they belong (I tend to bring out books more than I put them back), I feel all refreshed and ready to start whatever I plan to start. I set annual goals every year and of course I'll work the whole year trying to accomplish them. So a new year means a new goal, a new goal means a new start. ^^ This new year, especially means a lot to me, as I just graduated university, and there is much to work out and start a different life style which I won't be tied down to going to U, busy catching up with deadlines. Happy new year! Hope it'll be a great year for you. ^^

A good question! I think as long as people have ambition, the new year for him is a new beginning. But one can not say no,the action is very important.

I would hope a New Year would be a new beginning, but it depends what you want to be changed or be different from the prior year. I am hoping our economy gets better, and we can all afford to live better, but I fear the economy may become worse as long as things keep going in the direction that it is in. But I can always hope for the best.:) Tweenis
