End of the year. Will your year end with a bang or fizzle?

Well, it's the last day of the year.
Just a little more time before the new year.
I don't have anything big planned to usher in the new year.
I've been awake since before six AM this morning, so it's
early bedtime for me.
Unfortunately, our neighbors love to celebrate with
fireworks all night, so I'm sure I won't be getting
any sleep. This year wasn't so good for me.
No big accomplishments.
Actually, the year started out really well.
But, three months ago, things started a rapid slide
down hill.
I've had constant problems with my computers.
And, just when I thought that I had a plan for
my life, things fell out from under me.
But, I did have some fun times hanging out
on Mylot this year.
Just hoping this upcoming year will bring better success.
What were your big accomplishments for the year?
Biggest failures or disappointments?

hi beauty...i'll be watching the ball drop at times square in NY. it's so colorful and so traditional to hear the countdown and watch the beautiful brightly lit ball plunge at midnight. out neighbors usually have fireworks too. and i'm glad to have a job ending the year cause when the year started i didn't have a job until august. so i'm ending on a much brighter note than when i started the year. Thank God. Happy New Year to you.

No big plans for me either,I have to work tomorrow so 5am comes early so off to bed for me around 10pm.I really believe that you accomplish alot just getting through this year,it has been hard on alot of people with the economy being the way it is. I have only had one big disappointment and that is when the company I have worked for for 12 years took our holiday pay away from us(that is why I am working tomorrow)they let us no this at our Christmas party,what a let down.This is no small company but their excuse was the failing economy,2009 will be a better year.Happy New Year to you and have a great night.

Nothing much to say about 2008. Maybe a few disappointments here and there but it was still a good year for us as a family. I didn't plan anything for 2009 and hope that everything will be good and maybe better for us. It is the fifth day of a new year but just want to wish you a very happy New Year !

My 2008 was nothing special. I am hoping that 2009 will be a little bit more eventful. My biggest disappointment for 2008 is that my son's father still has not managed to be a part of his son's life. Not that it is a big shock.

I had a great new years. My husband, who doesn't live in the same city as me, for now,
came for two weeks and it was great. We didn't do anything but sit at home and be
together but it was nice and romantic. Now that I am much older we don't go out as much
anymore and don't need to go out on holidays anymore. We just enjoy each other and sit
at home together and it is great.
Two years ago we went to Vegas for New Years and that was great too. It doesn't matter
where we are, as long as we are together.

I am having a good year end. Got a promotion at work. It is extra responsibilities, and even though it is not official until Monday, I am already taking on some of them. I guess I get to learn how to manage employees.

I am sorry your year ended up in a negative note.
I stared the year in a negative note. It well well and then in June we got involved in a business deal we are still working on the deal. It has cost us a pretty penny and it could take us a year before we get any money but I have faith it will work out. I know we will be tight for money until we get the bills paid off we borrowed to get the business deal going.
I need to go back to dieting and I need to learn to be more positive so that are my resolutions for the year.

Happy New Year, beauty queen. It is now the beginning of the new year at my end. Well, in the past one year, I think, I have made some achievements in my teaching job in training my students to get the first prize in English Speech Competition, which wins the school a lot more reputation in the province.
I will have more upcoming tasks to do in my teaching and I am ready to face the challenges.
I wish you a prospective 2009.

Your year sounds a little like what mine was like last year started off ok and ended up with me hanging on for dear life wondering WTF had hit me. Oh well, and so we are in another year lol who knows what this will hold, I dread to think lol!!

Well the day itself wasn't bad for me. We played some video games and watched TV till around 1am. I was rather wasted.. I don't drink often so 3 white russians hit me real hard.
As for the year... it hasn't been bad at all. I had my youngest son in January of 08. My oldest started middle school, the twins started first grade. This coming fall the toddler might be going to head start.
I finally got a van back in May, I'd been needing it for years. We'd been sharing a small car for 4 or 5 years before then, and we couldn't even all fit into it.
But other than that, I just do what I've always done. I didn't have any big expectations for the year, and I don't for next year either. A year from now I'll say the same things. No major accomplishments personally, but no disappointments either.

The beginning and middle of my 2008 were bad I hated it alot. It wasn't until the last 4 months did things get good and were fine for me. I was really glad to see 2008 just go away and me being able to start of fresh with a clean new slate for 2009.
I think alot of us felt like this so know your not alone and I hope you and everyone here at MyLot has a better year this year.

in 2008 my biggest failure is i couldnt win what is been continuing for the last 6 years. and hope is still alive. hope 2009 will make me a winner.and since every year has its own way of taking you i hope 2009 will take me higher and higher. 2008 was a mixed year for. just in one side i was disappointed but on the other side it gave me a whole lot of pleasure. 2008 brought me my early strength that i used to have . so in 2009 i am far more stronger than i was in 2008.
