Hi, Happy new year, dear mylotters.Today is the first day of 2009-though it will be the second in less an hour as per the time zone of my country. The weather was fine with a bit strong wind.I slept late in the morning, signing another brand new year with no one special to spend with. After i came to the downstairs,i was happy to say my grandma. She will stay with us for a few days.Lunchtime came just after i finished washing. We went to the nearby town after lunch. With the help of my mother,I bought several new pieces of funiture today,a new TV cabinet,a nice computer table, a big wardrobe and an ordinary bookcase. They dont cost much, but they look nice in my room.Basically, I had a long and busy day. What did you do today?Did you enjoy yourself?

On the first day of new year eve I did nothing but sleeping because of the late night party. And when I woke up I went to temple and prayed to god that this year should be the year when all my dreams become reality. Then, I proceed it as a normal day.

I spent the morning and early afternoon at my sister's house. We then traveled back home which took all day and into the evening. When we got home we visited with our friends for about half an hour. Now we are relaxing! He is on the XBox 360 and I am on the computer.

i got up a little later than usual and did a few things around the house and then my son and i went to my mom's for a family get together where she put out a really nice brunch spread for the family. my husband did not come because he is a stick in the mud but my two sisters were there with their families and my dad came too. my parents are divorced for many years but things are amicable so she always invites him to our gatherings now and it is nice. it took years for it to get that way but it is nice. we stayed for about six hours and then drove home which is about a 40 minute ride and now we are home all doing our own thing like watching tv, playing video games, snacking etc.

I actually spent my first few hours of 2009 playing a online game. Than I got some sleep until around 12:20 and than I tried to learn a bit for the upcoming exams. (Highschool... bah) And I watched some TV and spent some time on eBay looking for anything interesting. It was a good day. Nothing special but it was at last a free day I could rest before the School begins next week. :/ By the way.. Happy new year! :)

On the first day of the new year we usually go over to my mom's house and eat a New Year meal. So that's what we did. We had black eyed peas, cabbage, cornbread, corn, and pork loin.

Hmm, what's nicer than a family get-together. I've always loved such occasion.

I did nothing special except passing some time to reflect on what went wrong in 2008 and how I could avoid my past mistakes in 2009.

I got up at 5:45 a.m., made coffee, checked my e-mail and other messages, made breakfast, cleaned the kitchen, cleared and put away all the Christmas stuff, cleaned and rearranged my storage closet, washed, dried and put away 5 loads of laundry, worked on a necklace I am making, had lunch, bought groceries, put them away, came on line to check messages and to have a look around here for a bit. And, where I am, it is now 5:47 p.m. I was a busy girl today.*L*

I have always heard that whatever you are doing New Year's day is what you will be doing the rest of the year. So, I think that maybe that is why I stayed busy yesterday. I WANT to be busy this year. I hope yours is all you wish it to be.*S*

A whole lot of R and R (much needed actually). Then I helped put my son's Christmas race track set together. We also went to the park, and played with a jumbo disc which is rubber fabric frisby. Next we played on the children's tire swing and regular swing sets. Boy it has been years since I've been on a regular swing. I remember when I was small how I used to do backward flips out the swings after I had gotten so high. Of course I didn't do it when we were at the park yesterday. Given the fact it was 2 or more decades ago, I didn't want to mess up and fall on my neck and possibly hurt myself, especially in front of my kids. Plus I didn't want them to see some of the antics I did around their age.

haha, kids are better at swings than adults. It's a long time since i've been on a regular swing.Actually, it would scare me if i get so high.

Actually I got up pretty high as I have long legs and I easily remember what to do. I was a regular active child, so I remember how to do backward flips, as my nephews talk me while I was still a teenager and they were 8 or 9. We used to climb on top of people's roofs and play football without any protective gear, etc... I just didn't want to hurt myself even though I remember. I'll probably do it at another visit later to the park, but I wasn't about to at that one.

Hi, Happy new year to you too! Yesterday, the first day of the year 2009, I slept in late, got up and drank coffee and attended to my dogs. I checked my email and status of my long awaiting unemployment debit card. It's been three weeks since I've been laid off and I've gotten lazier and lazier. My husband and I ate breakfast and proceeded to take down and pack away all our Christmas decorations and fake tree. The boxes are still in the livingroom, waiting to be put away in the storage building out back. We watched the parade on different channels and then took a nap. My 7 year old neice came over last night to show us that she finally lost that dangling front tooth of hers and she asked me to print out her Christmas pictures that my oldest son took, so she could make homemade frames to give them out as new years gifts. Sweet conciderate child, she is! I stayed up until 12:30 am on the internet, trying to figure out what my next job would be.

Thank you! I hope I get my unemployment debit card in the mail tomorrow! Our groceries are getting slimmer and slimmer! So is my imagination of what to cook with what is left! lol! I DO have a job prospect in mind for this week, though! There is a local portrait studio that is looking for photographers and I was a District manager of one for 5 years before in the 90's. I'm pretty confident I can get on there and make pretty good money, it's just the hours that aren't so great, but hey, we're getting hungry and the bills are piling up. I just wish my ex boss could have waited until after the holidays to lay me off! But...no looking back..2009 will be our best year! Cheers to you and yours and Thanks for inviting me and commenting on my page!*Hugs*

At midnight while everyone's watching the Times Square Ball Drop, i've been at home (as always) watching "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" on Youtube, and when I got up later on, I watched a "Looney Tunes" marathon (It's been about 2 days ever since i've seen it and can't remember what it was called, and it's been a long time since Looney Tunes have been on the air at all) on Cartoon Network. I've also spent time with my unopened glitter lamp and my brand-new one. Plus, my new one runs on batteries while the other runs on electricity though.

On the first day of 2009 I woke up around eight o'clock and I was groggy for a while with my friends. Then we went to McDonald's to pick up some breakfest and then we went back to my friend's house to eat breakfast and watch a movie. We watched the movie Ken Park and it was easily one of the most messed up movies that I've ever seen in my life. After that I went home and just kind of killed time for a while until I went and got my haircut and then waited for my girlfriend to get home. Then we just kind of sat around, ate some dinner, watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, and then later on we fell asleep.
